Gary: Wider rear tires on E92 M3?

On E92 M3, will 285s fit on OEM 19x9.5" rims? The M5 & 6 run 255F and 285R on the same size wheels as the M3. I'm concerned about rubbing on the fender lip. Would you drop the aspect ratio down to 30s instead of 35s? Also, could this setup be used with 12/12mm spacers? Thanks in advance.

A 285/35R19 tire will mount on a 19X9.5" wheel with no problem but is pretty tall in height at 26.8" so I would be concerned about possible fender rubbing, especially with spacers. 285/30R19 is just 25.7", which is a half inch shorter in height than the OE rear size. There isn't a good diameter match in the 285 width in 19". Given the possible complications, I'd stick with the 275/35R19 rear.

Hello wmtjr, on your E92 M3 you can deff put 285's on the rear 19x9.5 rims. You will NOT rub because the new M3's don't have a inner fender lip. Also if you install a 12mm spacer you will be pefectly fine with NO rubbing. I have done a 18mm spacer on stock M3's with NO issues.

Let me know if you need help with the tires or spacers.
