Front bumper... there is none.

Was looking over the new 7 at the local dealer last night and noticed that there really is no front bumper... looks like if someone backs into you parking, etc... the grill is the bump stop... what the heck were the designers at BMW thinking on that one!

It's the same for the 3 and 5. But good point.

The 3 and 5 have some bumper... seems the 7 stands proud with its rather large grill.

It's due to new pedestrian safety regulations in the EU. All EU cars are going to have a similar design. Apparently lots of pedestrians get hit by cars over there.
