Location of Central Locking Unit E28

Can't find the controller for the central locking on my right hand drive E28 528i (1983).
I have looked in the rhs footwell; behind the instrument cluster and nearby.

If I remember correctly, you have to remove the drivers side front speaker and tucked in there you will find it. You need to pull the carpet to gain access to two screws. If you don't have it by now, get a Bentley's E28 maintenance manual. You WILL need it to work in these cars!

Thanks, you were spot on. Unscrew the two screws and pull down the cables. The overload relay contacts needed resoldering after all its hysterical activity. All fixed

it is on the Passenger side not the drivers side.
