*OFFICIAL San Diego Caravan to 2009 Bimmerfest

PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGES

Here's the info for the SD portion of the SoCal caravan:

We will be meeting at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 5am. I know it's really early so bring your coffee, energy drinks, etc. The address is:

**The UTC group is leaving at 5:15am and will meet us on the 5. Let's try to get everyone in our group on the 5 before they pass us**

At 5:30am, we'll start heading up the 5 and merge with the OC group at approximately 6:30am on the 405 in Costa Mesa. At 7am, we'll merge with the LA group once we get on the 101 from the 405. At that point, we will be one huge group of beautiful BMWs. This is our goal. However, you never know what can happen.

Personally, I'd love to get to the Fest as early as possible so all of the SD crew can get Concourse parking. Let me know if you guys are up for this. We would need to get there between 7:30am and 8:45am. The fee is $40 instead of the general $20 fee.

Things you may want to do Friday:

- Wash your car
- Gas up
- Check tires
- Pack phone charger, microfiber cloths, bottled water or other drinks

Please be on time. We can't hang around too long waiting for people running late so please plan ahead a little in case you hit traffic, sleep in too late, etc.

Let's take our time guys. Do not race each other. Make sure to obey all traffic laws. I know it's hard since our cars are designed to go fast and kick ass but, let's make this a safe and fun trip for everyone.

No worries! I didn't forget about you! I was just going to look for the OC leader and I got caught up doing other things.

If your group wants to go with last year's plan, go for it. I've already set up the plan for SD. Some people might still be meeting in UTC but, for us in North County, it just doesn't make any sense to go all the way down to UTC just to come back up. If some people want to meet in UTC, they may as well just come up to Carlsbad since they'll pass right by anyway.

There's also one forming in UTC. We're meeting up with them once they get on the freeway too. Check out this thread and get in touch with slickav I believe he's the one leading that group.

Thank you! I love putting this together. I still haven't heard anything about an official OC plan. Have you? It seems like they might meet up at last year's spot but, it's not definite yet. Soon I hope!

i believe thats the OC meet, i just messaged him for some reason hes not in contact at all with us and idk how that even works out!

and a user from here i messaged him back asked me if he should start it, but i believe the link i sent is the right one

I got in touch with the OC leader and I'll call him when we're about 10 minutes away from their spot at IKEA. Since they're leaving at 6:30am, I need to change our times too.

How many people signed up to caravan from SD including other forums?

So far, we have about 14 in our group. I'm not sure how many people are in the UTC group yet.

We also need to get as many walkie talkies as we can for our group. It'll make it easier to communicate with each other once we're on the freeway.

I finally got my clear bra yesterday. Now I'm ready for the drive up to Bimmerfest! No more worrying about rock chips on my bumper and hood Does anyone else have this on their car? How well has it worked for you?
