12 Month Rule Compliance Pics

Well, it's been just about a year since my ED to pick up my 335. It was super hot here in SoCal on Sunday, so I thought it would be a good day to go up into the hills for a drive. I stopped along the way and took some pictures, and I thought I'd share.

btw, I didn't do a 12-hour post, so I didn't want to post on the ED forum because I didn't want those guys to take my car away.

Pictures? I don't see no stinking pictures!

Those are some sweet pics glad you shared, its rainy and dreary here in Va, so it helped brighten up my day thanks! Nice car by the way.

That red on red combo is tough nut for me to swallow...hopefully you leased cause resale will be a killer

Nice pics! The red on red is definitely unique. I don't think I've ever seen that before on a E9X.

What hills/road is that?

Wow, never seen the red on red combo before. It's different but I kinda like it. I would assume the pic showing the euro back plate is from when you first got the car? Or are you still driving around with a euro plate a year later?

LOL.. nice catch... He just said the pics are from Sunday, so....

I have NEVER seen red/red combo. Not bad, actually.

(My outside digital thermometer in the shade is reading 100.2 F right now. Hot today too!)

Yeah, I've read several red on red debates. I have no regrets on it, and I absolutely love the two-tone interior. I get nothing but compliments on the car...at least that's what people say to my face.

Oh no!! Good thing my car blends in - you guys won't find me...

The drive I took yesterday was a loop - up the 101 to Ojai, then the 33 (Maricopa Highway), then on Lockwood Valley Road to Frazier Park, and then to the 5, back down to the 405. The mountain pictures were along the 33, which went thru the Los Padres Forest and up to 5000 feet; and the flat road pictures were along Lockwood Valley Road. It was a great drive where you can really have fun and exercise your flappy paddle skills.

No, actually the pics are from yesterday. Yeah, I know I'm pushing it, though...I did the same thing with my last ED, and I lasted about a year - so I might just be due to get nailed. I keep my temporary tag on the windsheild to create a false impression that I'm still waiting on my plates.

Did you do a quick wheel detail and dust the ride before you took the shots? Otherwise, I don't know how you'd keep the car that clean in those dry conditions. (Trailer it in?)

Trailer it in / quick detail??? Hardly. I gave it a good washing / clay bar / waxing on Saturday, and I just decided to take it out for a 250-mile spin on Sunday. I guess the tire spray really stuck. BTW, my front end is now covered in bugs, so I gotta wash it all over again.

We all need Captain Audio's parking garage guy. He washes the car after every trip.

Did you actually visit the Nurburgring while you were there a year ago?

I am doing my ED on May 18 and I am debating if I will go to Nurburgring... there are various courses/programs offered at the Ring but I might not have sufficient time because of my tight driving schedule.

I think I just might be inspired to post some pics...I'm assembling them as I type.

I have no regrets about the red on red!! I had alot of skeptical remarks when I told people what I was getting, but when they saw it in person...they were really taken by how good it looks.

Thanks!! If you have any thoughts of going to the 'ring...DO IT!! It's really worthwhile! I was thinking of taking a driving class too, but it was a little too involved for me - timewise...maybe next time. But I did do a lap in the BMW Ring Taxi, drove two laps in my car, and then hung out at some trackside viewing areas. It was a perfect day to say the least!! The following day, they opened up the GranPrix track next door for people to do laps on. I would've loved to do that too, but by the next day, I was on my way to Brugges.

Here's a picture between laps, as we had to wait while the track was cleared of a bike crash.



I stayed in a town on the Mosel called Cochem, which is a really nice place with really cool castle up on the hill. It was a great base for two nights while in the area. As you can also see from the picture, the hotel was in the perfect location: It was just below the castle, and at the start of the road to Nurburg (see the road sign),

Red on red is a first for me too. I am a fan of both crimson and coral. Together would take sometime to get used to but from the pictures, I like.

Hey what trim did you select? Aluminum would add a great contrast to your redness.
