2009 335ix sedan SSTT VS Lexus ISF
Hello all,
I was on my way to work today when i caught a nice race on the highway with a Lexus ISF. He was behind me tight to me bumper so i let him go infront of me so i can see if i can keep up/pass him. It went like this, from 60mph we both took off i was right on his bumper if not inching closer to him. We hit some traffic and were cruising at about 85mph and took off again, this time i was close behind him and he started to very slowly pull away and probably 1 car length away at approx 140mph. Is the lexus ISF suppose to be the competition to the 335 or the m3? I hope its for the 335 because a new m3 would destroy it, unless the sstt chip in my car made the real difference, what do you guys think? |

The ISF is made to compete against the M3 and my guess would be that the SSTT of course helped you out. I wouldn't go as far to say that an ISF vs an unchipped 335 would be a total blow out but your chip did help you in this situation I'm sure.

140 mph, on a public road, being about 1 car length behind someone.
![]() I guess I know now why some cars look the way they do when the fire crew sweeps them off the road. And yes, the M3 is clearly the competitor Lexus is aiming at with the IS-F.

![]() Not sure what the SSTT does, but I'm a bit surprised the heavier xDrive kept up. Go go BMW?

SSTT all the way.. WooHoo! The way your set up now, you're not that much slower than an M3- especially for the first 100mph.
I'm sure what he meant to say that he raced an IS-F in Mexico on el routa del 80'

The ISF has about the same HP than the M3 and way more torque but is heavier. I don't know what how many HP your modded 335 has but unless it's over 400 I wouldn't think it could keep up with a properly driven ISF.
Thanks, Mike. |

I raced a Lexus on 1st Avenue last night. He kept up with me up to about 175 but at that point I shifted into 3rd and left him like he was standing still. I would have done better if I hadn't had 7 Margarita's before I left the bar.
Actually it may have been a civic and I may have been going 30 when I shifted to 3rd. Actually I didn't shift at all since I was in full automatic mode at the time. It may have only been 5 Margaritas - or maybe they were Martinis - which is the one that comes in that funny glass that makes you spill your drink all over yourself? The whole thing seems very foggy now. I just remembered - I left my car home last night. How do I apply for one of those Darwin awards? CA

I've driven on the I80 in Jersey, man there were cops everywhere, you really lucked out 140 mph I wouldn't try that again anytime soon if you value your License.

What do I think? I think you're an idiot. I hope WHEN you one day kill yourself you don;t take any innocent lives with you.
Racing belongs on a track. Get it? Doing crap like this on a public road just proves what an idiot you really are. |

LOL...that's an inside joke...I used to live on the 1st and 89th. For those of people not familiar with NYC, 1st ave is a ONE Way, 3-4 lane avenue heading north.
