I think the correct answer is (c)unilingual.

On topic, I actually think it looks pretty cool. It shows off the "fun" side of things, IMO.

Your wife's name is Jenny, I take it?

Count me among those who think that it looks dumb to have the euro plate under the state plate. Last week here in Virginia, where front license plates are required, I saw a Japanese car with a long German plate mounted on the center of the front bumper and the VA plate precariously set just below the right headlight. Unusual, at least.

My personal opinion is that less decoration for decoration's sake is always the classier alternative. Off hand, I think the double plate detracts from the car and looks silly.

However, if the owner of a car finds something just plain fun, who am I to criticize? Life's too short. Hell, if somebody thought it was a hoot to hang pink fuzzy dice under the mirror of their car and it genuinely made them laugh from time to time or put them in a good mood, more power to them.

I think the statement it gives out is a bit lame i.e. "look as if you can't tell already I am driving a EUROPEAN car" or some stupid sh.t like that. Or "I was in Europe with thtis car". Or "i like longer Euro plates more and at least I managed to squeeze one here" and I can go on and on but bottom line - I can't find one good reason why you'd do that.

as for your GF - ask her why she likes it - may be she gets something we don't. and don't smack her for this lol.

I think you need to chill. I don't give a darn what the guy wants to do with his Euro. plate. Were you worried about your girl writing his plate number down and leaving you for his big M3?

I agree, wouldn't do it personally, but whatever. IMO less is better when it come to this kind of stuff. Regarding front plates, I think it looks much cleaner without one. I did ED for the experience and price, and am glad I got to keep my 2 plates from the trip…. but they look much better on my wall than on the front of the car or underneath another plate.

I've seen the same thing. Who knows, might have even been the same car. It looked ridiculous.

The problem will take care of itself one of these days when the euro plate gets stolen.

I think that we are talking about "taste" here, and that is subjective. There are folks who lower their cars till the bumpers almost scrape the ground. They have even acknowledged that the ride deteriorates, but they like the look. Others who darken their windows so much that one wonders if they can see anything at night. And still others with so much bling that the car looks like a pimpmobile. So, as the Professor suggests, whatever turns you on is your business. Just my .02c.

Good point.

I am a firm believer that people can and will do whatever meets their needs in terms of taste. I was just curious what the "consensus" was from the fest. I think I have learned that the consensus is that people can do what they want.... but there is probably a better place for a Euro plate than UNDER a state plate.

In some states it's illegal to hang stuff from your rear-view mirror.

I think the Zoll plate is tasteful and somewhat unique to show on your car, but NOT if it's mounted underneath a state issued tag. IMO, showing the Euro tag on the front bumper is more about showing your "membership" in the ED group and less about the discount.

It's also illegal to have a March madness office pool, lol.

I wonder, if in the whole history of such laws, anybody has every been cited for a fuzzy dice violation.

(No... I'm not referring to THAT kind of fuzzy dice violation. Get your mind out of the gutter.)

I have no words for people who do that,

I mean really whats the need for putting the ED plate and then your state plate over it...

For example look at the fool in this video showing off his ED plate and you cant even take ED on an X5.

I drove around with my Zoll plate on the car until my California plates got here, and the Zoll plate is now on the wall above my workbench. Putting a US plate over the German one is kinda llike the kids who have their underwear sticking 4-5 inches out of top of their pants, or the bra straps AND the spaghetti straps showing. Me no likie.
