How much did you spend at Bimmerfest?
$20 to get in.
$60 on shirts. $50 or $60 on food and drinks. $160 on hotel. $70 on gas. $2.99 on shoelaces. $3110.00 est. at the body shop. On the way home, a car just a little in front of me and to left ran over some kind of debris on hwy 101. (It could have been a tire carcass, or lord knows what...) Since I was surrounded by traffic and it came at me so fast that I had no where to go but over it. I knew it was going to be bad news as soon as I ran over it. I stopped at the 1st exit and took a quick look and was surprised that it didn't look too bad. (From what I could see in the fading lite and being unable to get under the car.) I tied the lower grill to the bumper skin (with my son's shoe laces) and drove it home thinking the front end and the drivers side fender liner was the main extent of the damage. Today the car went into the body shop for an estimate. WOW! The debris took out the front bumper cover, several of the brackets that the bumper cover and under-body cowling attaches to, the lower grill, the under body cowling, a big chunk of the cross-member brace, both fender liners, the driver side rocker panel, the under-body covers that protect the fuel line, brake line, and wiring, several various bolts and fasteners, and will likely require an alignment. There's also a big dent in the floor pan beneath the drivers seat. They said they will have to pull the seat, carpet and console out to repair it. ![]() This Z4 is one tough little car. The impact made an ugly noise and it sounded like hell as the debris cleared the underside of the car, but the car drove rock solid during and after the incident. After I tied the front end together, it even drove like a champ the rest of the way home. Oh well, I really was getting sick of all those chips in the bumper cover.

bummer...
I paid- $20 admission $15 t-shirt $20 gas $55 total. Now on prepping for bimmerfest.... two weeks ago I ran over a semi truck recap that was run over and airborne. I was going 80+ and had no out so I went right over it and destroyed the bumper. ![]() ![]() I fixed it myself and in record time! I did all the body work and paint at home in the garage, and I finished at 9pm the night before bimmerfest

Sharing a room would have done wonders for my tab - $415 for the hotel, $68 for food and beverages, I'm guessing $60 for gas, and $20 for the Fest. I ate at Keith's Kooler at the show.

Yes the roadsters are vacuum cleaners. I have had two run-ins with road debris which have totaled about $6K. The total this trip for me was $40.00 to get in, $50.00 fuel, $29.00 to upgrade to a room with an ocean veiw at Fess Parkers, I got the room free on Hilton points, food $200.00, a shirt for 20.00 and a low profile antenna for $10.00.
