Anybody know if the M6 is scheduled to have the DCT like the M3?

Anybody know if the M6 is scheduled to have the DCT like the M3? I have only driven the M3 with the DCT and was impressed. I have read that not all drivers like the SMG. I prefer either over the manual trans due to heavy traffic and commute to work.

No DCT in current gen M6 - too close to end of production...

FWIW some of the early feedback we have had on DCT is that it is "too good", ie. too much like an auto trans.....

SMG for sure had its promoters and haters..... but that is a topic that has been covered many times already....

Thanks.

Thanks. I was just wondering because the technology is already in place. When is the new 6 series due to be out?

First of the current gen was 2004 MY, so should see as a 2011 based on the current 7 year life cycle - everything else being equal, the M version will be out (conjecture on my part only - I have not seen any official BMW memos on this one ) a couple of years after that
