Long cranks

Took about 10 seconds of cranking to start the car from cold this morning. This has happened about 5 times now. Runs ok after that and starts immediately once warmed up. I sense a new HPFP in my future. But I'm guessing the dam-n thing will have to strand me first before they'll replace it.

Nope. They'll do that after you get the MIL/CEL to stay on.

I already had one CEL along with limp mode. Dealer said it was a bad coil causing a misfire. Still doesn't explain the long cranks, but haven't had a CEL since.

doubt you have to wait to be stranded

i know for a fact that if the long cranks was followed by the "check engine soon" light, you can go into the dealer and get your hpfp replaced. the dealers seem to be well acquainted with the hpfp problems now.

if you don't have the "check engine light", i would call the dealer and ask to talk to a service representative and explain the situation.

don't let them rip you off. hpfp replacement should be zero out of pocket.

Once you get the check engine lights, they should replace it.

HPFP take it to your local dealer and deal with it.
