2006 330 Car Light Question

So I was driving with my family (all four seats filled) and towards the end of the trip a light came on that I don't know what it means.

It was a picture of a person sitting in a chair with a belt on (profile picture). It also had a big oval on top of the lap.

Looking at the owners manual it says it should be a "brief" light to let me know the air bags are working fine, however this light was on for about 1 hour (until I parked my car and turned it off).

Any help would be great.

Thank you

It was probably related to the airbag seat occupancy sensor in the front passenger seat. It keeps the airbag from firing if the seat is unoccupied. There has been a problem with its failure. If it has failed the airbag would not fire in an wreck even if someone was sitting in the seat. There is a recall on it. It should be repaired at no cost to you.

NHTSA says:
"BMW IS RECALLING 200,000 MY 2006 3 SERIES SPORT SEAT"

Is OP's with sport package? Or does this affect the rest of us without ZSP?

I don't have the sport so it does not apply to me (I will still mention it).
The person in the passenger seat was my g/f. I checked to see if she was leaning on the door but that did not happen. The two passengers in the back were sitting properly.

I will tell the dealer when I drop my car off tonight (they need to fix adaptive headlight control).
