2-fast Trackday at Oregon Raceway Park 5/16

Has anyone been to ORP yet? It is a new track.

There was a non-pro photographer there on Saturday who took this pic of me on the lowest speed, second gear turn:



I did manage to get both knees down, which is a first for me. The track is very technical and there are very few straights. 4th gear max. < 1L bikes and hypermotards are ideal for this track.

On Sunday, someone had to be airlifted out. I wasn't there for that however. See pics here.

Interesting side effect discovered today when I was washing my bike. On one turn early in the afternoon, I felt the left peg feeler grind on pavement. I grind the peg feelers on my RT once in a while, but this was a first in the R12S. I thought nothing of it after it happened and kept on riding.

However, today when I was washing my bike, I saw this:



About 2 years ago on a very cold morning I dropped this bike in a parking lot. Ashamed, I touched up the wounded Touratech valve cover guard with flat black paint. You can see it in this pic if you look really close.

This time, I'm going to leave it as-is, I think.
