Trans. Failsafe Prog.

I have a 2002 530i with 190,000 miles. A while back this turned on but I drove for like 5 minutes and it turned off... I parked the car for a month or two and when I went to start it the battery was dead so I charge the battery and started i, but when I tryed to drive it it wouldn't move...when I hit this gas to drive it would jerk really hard and start driving, very weak and the car was gutless. Also it doesn't even drive in reverse.

The first thing I would check for is transmission fluid leaks. Any puddles under the car as it was parked for two months?

Then read the error codes.

Since you had to jump the car, low battery could be your issue. I got trans fail safe when my battery was failing.

"Everybody knows" that low/bad battery will cause transmission issues, but I personally have never observed it on my E38. I ran my [old and weak] battery flat quite a few times while working on the car.

One code was some kind of stall sensor or something and another one was like an output speed sensor.

We need the exact codes. Without them it's impossible for anyone to tell you what the issue might be.

An ODBII scanner cannot read tranny codes. You need to get the GT-1, INPA or equivalent computer based scanner to read and clear your tranny codes.
