E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

1 series convertible--tether anchors?

Does it have a tether attachment for forward facing child seat installs? I have a loaner 328i convertible and am very surprised to find LATCH anchors in the back seat but NO tether anchors. Anyone know the answer? Apparently the e46 convertible has these, but not the e90 and maybe not the 1er. I checked the downloadable manual from BMW, but it looks like only the 1er coupe has the anchors. TIA!

Check p.46 of the '08 non iDrive manual (p.56 in the iDrive version) for the location of the convertible tethers. The lower seatbacks have decals showing their positions; to access the tethers, simply reach under the seatbacks (between the seat cushion and seatback) near the decals. (I've been wondering what those decals were for - thanks for solving that mystery.)

Edit - looked a bit further and it appears you are correct, the tethers I described are the LATCH anchors. As there would be no place behind the rear seat to mount them, the 'vert doesn't have the coupe's anchors. Pretty obvious that I haven't transported any young children in my 128i!!

Thanks for the effort. Looks like no tethers is the answer. Alas.
