Just ordered 135i for ED - Bimmerfest

I just ordered a 135i Alpine White, Black Leatherette, glacier silver aluminum trim, ZMP, power seats, heated seats, PDC, nav, BMW Assist, Sirius, Premium hi-fi, iPod/USB adapter, alarm. European Delivery - date to be determined (late August or early September). I got it for $1k over invoice without any haggling. Can't wait!

Wow, Pete, congratulations. Long time no hear. Have you been to Europe? It's a great place. I love to retire there. Personally, I like BMWs over Porsche. But don't tell the Porsche fanatics.

I'm thinking about a 135i ED. Care to share the dealer you used?

Hi Dave. It has been indeed a while since I've been on the forum. Yes, I've been to Europe quite a few times and I love to travel there. I'll have to start planning my trip soon... maybe catch up with Baumann if I can get in touch with him.

Sounds familiar. We went in to the dealership in March 2008 to just look at the new 1 series and I drove out in a 335 coupe.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the turbo engine once you've had the car a while. I'm not exactly loving it....too much lag when starting off. I was hoping my engine had a problem, but according to the dealer it's fine.

But it looks like you are getting a manual, so the issue I have should not be an issue for you.

Bruce, I didn't notice lag when I test drove the 135i and 335i back to back. Both were manuals.

I think the issue is how the automatic transmission interacts with the turbo engine. Oh well, I only have about 2 years left on my lease.

And since you're in North Carolina, no excuse to not do a Performance Center Delivery when it gets back...

Indeed. I'm doing both ED and PCD. I live just a little over and hour away from the Performance Center.

Congrats Pete, that will be a great looking car. I love the look of the ZMP. I was over at Hendrick a few weeks ago for service and saw a Lemans 135, looked really nice. I've had pretty good dealings with the CAs there, they've always gone out of their way for me. Great deal for sure, when I talked with them late last year about an ED they told me they did not go below the ED MSRP on those orders. Certainly a lot has changed with the car market in the last 9 months though.

The service facility seems chaotic, as it was when I had my E36 M3 a few years back. I can't say I ever look forward to having to take my car to them. I think all of the service folks are overwhelmed with so many BMWs here and only 1 dealer.

I'm jealous of you getting to take ED and PCD. I had to drive 600 miles in a snowstorm to get my 135 from the guy in this thread who didn't know where North Cackalacky was

I haven't seen many 1s around town. A good friend of mine did just pick up a Silver 135 from Hendrick, he and I had them up at Cars and Java at Northlake a couple of weeks ago. There are a couple of guys in the area on 1Addicts, including a guy with a Sedona Red coupe on order. Who knows, maybe we can get them all together at some point.

BWM135, great to know there are other 1er enthusiasts here in Charlotte. My CA at Hendrick is a pleasure to work with. A friend of mine who used to work at Hendrick recommended him so I didn't get any of the usual bull**** about no discounts on ED MSRP. I got pretty much the price I asked for. $1k over invoice and they're tinting my windows when the car gets back.

It will be fun to have a get together some time.

My daughter and I just got back last week from picking up a ED 135i and driving it for 11 days!

Nav will be worth it's money!
