Question How to remove the interior rear door panel?

Hi folks. I'm new to the X3 and have just bought a 2006 with 35K miles. The rear passenger door is missing the black knob which locks that door. I've bought a new knob but am unable to instal it without removing the door panel.
Does anyone have instructions to do this?
I really like this forum but can not find what I need.

This should help:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/

It gives exploded views as well as parts of just about every aspect of the vehicle.

Please make sure to use nylon type pry bars when removing wood trim on door bars. Metal ones tend to chip the wood.

And DO NOT tear the vapor barrier. It is a simple neoprene rubber sheet.

Many many people have found after heavy rains that was the cause of water on the floor area.

Thanks Evlengr,
The drawings are very useful. All I'm really needing to do is find the "Operating Rod" behind the door panel such that I can reattach the Button. Does anyone know how I could get to this without taking off the door panel?
Regards,
Jonamg
