03 745i - Opinions needed: should I buy this car?

I am about to make a purchase on a 2003 745i and I was wanting everyone's opinion before I bite the bullet. It car driver flawlessly and I've reviewed the entire car history through bmw. Its never been in for any major issues so i feel confident that it might be one of the few 02-03 that were not plagued with issues.

I'm located in Dallas and it is a alpine white/black combo with every option available except for heat steering wheel. Some of you might remember TXSTYLE old car. This is it. Its still in great condition and have 56k on the odometer. The price however is 22.5k. Does anyone this it might be work it? The history looks good but there seems to be so many issues on the 02 and 03 that i might be scared to jump into it. I have priced out couple good warranties and Mercury isn't available for me since the car just ran out of warranty. (i spoke with a warranty dealer and they said the car has to be under warranty during the purchase of the contract) If you know otherwise please let me know. I've also priced the Royal which seems to be a pretty good bumper to bumper also. though both of the warranties i've priced was closer to the range of 4k.

My question to you is, would you bite the bullet and make this purchase? I'm for sure going to get a warranty but even with the issues on these car, would you still do it? Is it worth it? I've always wanted a e65 from the very first time i bought my e46 and now I have a chance but I've been reading this board for he last couple months and it seems there are so many issues that it might not be worth it.

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Buy it and love it

Don't read too much in to this board. It amazes me that many here continue to drive a 7. I have a 2002 and it has never had any major probs. Find a good private mechanic. The extended warranty market is rife with fraud and is falling apart.

Good luck

I would get it. It's not easy to find an 03 that has been that well cared for. The color combo is a plus too if that's what you like.

I dont know him personally, but from here it appears that, TXStyle takes care of his vehicles I would rather purchase his then some other unknown private party sale....Plus he never complained about any major issues he was haiving with it..So go for it!! good Luck!

Is this actually his car or are you saying it has the same color combo? How many miles on it? If it is his with the nice wheels, then there is no better peace of mind than knowing it came from one of us.

It actually his car but he took the wheels off of it and now its on his new 750i. So, I have the factory chromes. I actually just purchased the car and about to leave to pick it up in about 1 hour. Gonna do the whole car wash routine and post pics shortly

Thanks for your input and you'll be seeing me on this board for frequently now.
