Post coolant sensor

Hi everyone. I need to know which sensor the gauge (in the bezel) reads off. Its for an 85 325E. I am thinking it the one that has the smaller clip. My gauge stopped working so I bought an auto meter but all sensor adapters dont fit so I am thinking I can just tap into the existing wiring.

It's light, simple design is rugged enough to run against $400k rally cars, but on the street it' communicative chassis delights even the most disinterested driver. It really is one of the world's ultimate driving machines
