well doing my brakes, easy enough right? lol i start last night when i got home from work finished the driver side no problem, get over to the ps and the allen screw that hold the rotor on is completely stripped so i drill through is and get a extractor tool thingy and tap it in there i go to turn it the extractor snaps in two and is stuck in my rotor great i flip out and start beating the hell out of the old rotor(made me feel better). So this morning i go to lowes buy me a air chisel and it had a air punch thing too, hook it up and i get the head of the allen screw off and punch the rest of the broke extractor through. At this time i am like hell yea only a day in a half to do the front not a bad start lol. So its time to retract the piston back into the caliper and guess what the thing wont go in, after a while i finally got it to go back in figure i am doing great got a smile everything. Put the tires on and go for a test drive and every time i brake the pedal pulsates pretty bad and the steering wheel shakes now soooooooo i am pissed off sitting on my couch thinking how to burn my car and get insurance money lol

Sounds like you're having an awesome time. This isn't your first e36, you should know by now.

Working on your car will never be as easy as you'd think. Something always goes wrong. Best thing to do is just sit back, drink a beer and work on it later with a clear mind.

and don't burn the damn thing. roll it off a cliff, take video, youtube the b!tch, and title it "fastest e36 0-60 ever"

wow...sorry to hear.

next time, you may want to do the following.

before attempting to remove the allen screw, whack it with a ball peen hammer.

before compressing the caliper piston, make sure the bleeder will move. (no, this will not let air into the system by dong this). if the piston does not move, then open the bleeder (use a length of poly tubing to catch the old dirty fluid) and then compress it. if it moves, then you may be dealing with a restricted brake hose.

as for the pulsing, did you replace the rotor you beat like a redheaded stepchild?

well see the allen screw was stripped completely before i even started, i think the PO or who ever changed the brakes last stripped it and just put it back not sure but it was a circle, and the piston would move but it would come towards the end and just stop after a couple of tries it went back like normal.

The rotor i beat was the old one, i would beat on the new one thing cost me moneyz lol
