Pioneer. They run for like 400 I think but it's worth it to spend a little extra for quality

Matt, you get what you pay for broseph... I would recommend the Kenwood units as the cheapest I'd want to spend (typically around $500). There are a lot of tiny little moving parts in those, and I'd want a brand that at least has SOME reputation, rather than those ebay nameless brands

Here is a writeup for the e39, but its pretty much the exact same for the e36.

http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm

And the e46 one, again pretty much the same:

I've found some decent Pioneers and Jesens.

Definitely not getting a cheap no name brand one, but Kenwood is definitely out of my price range

I've always been biased towards Pioneer, but I really do think you would be happier with it. A lot of customization and the ones I've had have all been really user friendly. Although mine have all been single DIN

Too many choices!

I might bid on the pioneer, but I'm not sure if it is bluetooth capable, or if it comes with all the Nav pieces, the seller didn't respond.

I had bluetooth and never used it, and cell phones are illegal while driving here. Too much of a hastle

Sidenote: What do you guys use to download your free "legal" music files. I used to use frostwire but it doesn't work like I want it to anymore

Amen about downloading music. I did it how someone here suggested it.

Use MP3 downloader on your android phone, then transfer to computer.

well its like this im trying to get the nexus s and its on both carriers

its either sprint (better coverage, 4g [when if/when its in my area] 3g everywhere little bit more $$

or tmobile [which i have currently but contract has ended] (good coverage, only 3g ,unbearable 2g, less $$$ )

2 year contract with both
