Not a fan of the new 3 series either... I dislike most new cars to be honest.

Does anybody know which auto transmissions are compatible with each other? I have the auto out of my 93 325 and I need to know if it'll fit somebody's 94 318. I know it'll bolt up, I'm more worried about the wiring/computer.

Gonna buy and use for a swap

He said he'd take 1000 for it and my friend knows him, guess he does e36 ls swaps and builds drift cars.

He got the car from an auction ( no title) runs great, was going to build it into a drift car but picked a different car for it. Should be a great swap car since it's obd1 and I have a whole car to scrounge parts from

You don't want a strut bar like that. You only want to use a strut bar that has the correct molding where it mounts to the strut towers. Our strut towers have raised portions, and if you bolt a flat strut tower bar to them, it can deform the metal. There's a reason why the eBay bars are cheap. Also, you never want to use a bar that has hinges/pivots.

Gotcha...whats the best/cheapest strut bar in your opinion.

Hmmm... I dunno. Define best/cheapest. When I eventually get one for my car, I'm getting the Rogue Engineering Racebrace. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's a serious piece of hardware.

http://www.rogueengineering.com/rogue/StrutB/RE_RB.html

Another important design element is that you will want an open-style mounting flange so you can access the tops of the struts without removing the strut brace. This is only relevant if you have adjustable struts, but still, it makes sense to go this route if you ever plan to upgrade to struts with adjustable damping.

Jesse, this is what I have on both Bebe and Elvira:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-98-BMW-E3...item5ae2709e38

Since I had barely driven Elvira I couldn't say what it did or didn't do for her, but it stiffened the heck out of the front end of Bebe (318is). She'd gotten pretty limber since she's pushing 232k miles. Added the strut bar and no more lane wandering on uneven pavement.

The more I see the less I like. Now my mild distaste for the nose has turned into outright disgust. It looks like a cartoon evil guy. Snidley Whiplash comes to mind.

^ Don't you have adjustable coil overs? The solid tops of that brace would at least block access to the damper adjustment screws, and might not even fit over them.

I chose not to get the damper adjusting ones due to funds at the time.

No they use the same drive shafts. Only difference would be auto versus manual.

There's a few things I like about it, and a LOT I dislike.

And those mirrors, holy cow they're huge! And unpainted on the sport models! Ick!

I started pulling the M50 out of the parts car this afternoon and it's most of the way done. I'm making a time-lapse video. It should be pretty cool.
