Only things I can think of being the issue is a clogged ICV
, camshaft sensor, or crankshaft sesnor, Fpr(maybe)

After it starts it run fine but when comming to a stop the rpms jump a lot (as if there's a vacuum leak) if I were to vacuum test it what readings would look for of using a vacuum measuring computer?

What could I do while at home to check for vacuum leaks (ex: tricks)?

Ever since I bought my car back in '09, It has occasionally gone through phases where the Check Engine light likes to tease me.

Usually when the car is about 3/4 of the way warmed up, when I'm accelerating normally, every once in a while the check engine light will come on while I have the clutch in between gears. Its usually when I'm shifting under 3k, and goes away the second the clutch comes out.

Car feels normal, normal sounds, nothing out of the ordinary except that stupid light. It used to do it the fall I first got it, I forgot about it and now its decided to do it again. Happens 1-2 times a day, maybe. Any ideas?

Oh rly, I was thinking O2 sensor. Do you think its storing the code?

Is it cheap/easy to replace? Can I shamelessly ignore it like I ignore my washer fluid sensor, coolant sensor, taillight warning, and vanos rattle?

EDIT: $80 each?! And I have to remove the intake manifold?!

UGH. Can I continue to ignore this?

Yeah it stores the codes...do the pedal trick, I think its 11226 or something, I forget exactly...

Is it easy? Lolololol I just did mine 3 days ago and I hated my very existance...

You can ignore for a while. I did for almost a year. But they wont magically fix themselves so eventually you have to do it because I heard that it affects performance and stuff.

What's the production date? There's a different sensor (I think just the connector, actually) for 1992-08/93. Mine's a '95

Yeah, I know, but I have a Miata to turn into a race car this winter, so I'm scrutinizing every penny spent on the ole girl and trying to watch how many weekends I spend in the garage to keep my girlfriend happy.

Yeah. Like I said, its been on and off and on again for 2-3 month periods for the past 2 years I've had the car. If it actually starts to cause a noticeable effect I'll suck it up and do it.

Not sure, man. It's your call. My guess is that only the connector is different. So you should be able to just splice it in. That's what Dino did with the knock sensors from that engine, and they work well, I believe.

iirc, there are tabs on the connectors that allow them to be disassembled for new contacts/weatherpak.

when i did my fogs there were no pigtails there at all, just wires. i had some spare wiring harnesses from an old e32 (green parts car, never drove it, just made it go away...). i found the correct color wires, matched them to the correct plug and viola, magic.

i'd say simply swapping out the connector plastic should be easier.
