Bebe hit a milestone today (pardon the pun). I had the trip odo set so it would come up "890.1" when the miles rolled over to 234567, but Gina filled up yesterday, forgot about it and hit the reset. At least I caught it at the appropriate mileage.

I'm also open to other ideas for a winter beater. Doesn't have to be a BMW, but I'm looking for something similar to an E30, easy to work on, good mpg, and <1k.

Ditto!

I don't know why they came like that. Maybe it was a standalone option you could check, maybe it came on the lux or non-lux cars or just with the special color or something. I think part of the reason you never see it is because they are so thin and close to the ground that a car that gets driven at all is probably going to need to replace it at some point. Personally I think it looks a lot better black. Mine was recently murdered by a piece of tractor trailer tire and it doesn't even look that bad without one at all.

The 94 and very early 95's had color matched mesh. It was a factory thing for the non lux cars, the lux cars have color matched slats.

When I bought the Audi the PO told me the non heated driver seat was replaced with a better condition one that was heated. Said if I wanted I could probably hook them up and hook up an OEM switch and have them work.

Turns out they already do......all the time. They apparently are hooked into constant 12v somewhere sans the OEM switch, so I can't turn them off. Thats a definite project this weekend now that its 90*....

Dafuq? That's a long ass drive for 30 minutes! I'll be up there soon enough. Probably once it's warm enough to not be a puss and ride quads at gravity.
