I was so tired that I honestly don't remember. Probably a good thing he pulled me over, cause I definitely could have started to doze off.

Anyway, he only charged me for the "swerving" and driving past curfew, and threw out the speeding for some reason. $235 infraction and license taken for 48 hours, so I don't have to go to court. I guess this means I won't get points or whatever? I suppose I lucked out big time. I don't know, it just sucks that I can't trust myself driving far distances at night.
As long as I crank up music and have the windows down im good to drive....if I ever feel like im getting tired, I pull over and get out of car to re-ignate myself before I drive anymore.

It is yet another example of: just because you can doesn't mean you should. The advent of the internet, cheap digital cameras, and a narcissistic culture has resulted in far too many people thinking they have artistic talent. It's really embarrassing, actually.

So who's going to go test drive one and report back with findings? Im a little curious. The interest fell a bit when I read it shares tires with a prius.

soo.... i found why my tire kept loosing air. I had a outrageously large dent in my damn wheel on the inside edge. Luckily I have connections at the local body repair shop and they worked a little magic with ole' mr.Hammer and straightened it a bit. Whew thank you BBS.

Who cares if it shares tiers with the Prius? Most journalists are saying that it's actually a breath of fresh air. It's meant to be a very good "starter sports car". If you spend any time receiving high performance driving instruction, one of the first things instructors will tell you is to NOT buy super wide tires or race slicks right off the bat when your racing skills are still at the novice or intermediate level. The reason for this is because you really do not want a bonkers level of grip when you don't have the skills to use it. When you put a novice in a car with insane levels of grip, they'll keep driving faster and faster, thinking they're able to handle the car, until they inevitably make a mistake because they lack experience, and by that point they're going so fast that the consequences are going to be huge (BIG accident). By holding off on ultra-high traction tires until your skill level is adequate, you are giving yourself a larger safety net, and a better environment to grow your skills and learn how the car behaves. For this reason, I think that Toyota & Subaru were VERY smart for not putting super wide tires on this car from the factory. It will be the perfect starter platform for people interested in getting their foot in the door of high performance driving, and as their skills develop, they can upgrade the wheels & tires accordingly. Very smart.

I don't care for how these cars look, but I'm totally smitten with their general philosophy (low price, low curb weight, RWD, not too powerful or grippy, but with excellent handling and feedback, and with LOTS of room to grow with the aftermarket).

I agree with Karl. The philosophy is pretty similar to an E36, so it can't be that bad to drive. I would test drive one if they actually let 17-year-olds test drive new cars.

Now I don't feel as silly for running all seasons on my M3. :-)

I still need to get out to an autocross on these tires. Less grip = more fun.

You'll be fine. Just use common sense and don't step on anything that seems sketchy.

I think Subaru already has an STi version planned, but it's not going to be crazy powerful. Something like 250hp? That isn't a lot of power, but it's a 25% increase. Also, the WRX STi is 3373lbs with 305hp, and the Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S is 2776lbs. If Subrau built a 250hp version of the BRZ, it would have the exact same power to weight ratio as the more powerful (but heavier) WRX STi. And due to having a lower overall weight, the BRZ is always going to handle better than a WRX STi because it has less mass to swing around.

Power/Weight Ratios:
305hp WRX STi: .0904
250hp BRZ STi: .0900

The aftermarket will certainly be making turbo kits which will boost power well above 300hp, and that will be truly fun.
