Yeah, the only thing which matters is that the cluster you use comes from a car which had the same number of cylinders as your car. Since the M3 and 328 are both 6-cyl cars, you're good to go.

sweet yeah my milage display is cutting out on me and i figured i would just swap out the memory chip thing and red needles are cool.

i would not be able to take my car to the same redline tho right? isn't the m3s higher?

Correct. You'll bang off the limiter before you hit redline on the M3 cluster.

MR2 plus Ilion gorge = oh muh lawrd.

This thing is hysterical! Took the t tops off and played my ramones greatest hits CD, was a blast till I got stuck behind a stinky garbage truck. So I pulled into the gravel parking area and did donuts for awhile and finished the gorge. Great day before work today

I've been so busy at work lately that I'm clueless about what's going on here. Do you own an MR2 now, or were you just driving a friend's car?

Nice, Joe. That car actually sounds like a lot of fun.

Went biking riding today. 21mi at 5:40 per mile. It was through a hilly area, so I'm pretty happy with myself.

God dammit I want a classic Benz sooooo baaaaaad. If it wasn't for the massively increased chance of mortality in a low speed fender bender, I would totally buy one as a daily driver. Imagine how classy you'd feel climbing out of that thing in front of a restaurant.

Dear god. My MB of that body style was a nightmare. Maybe if it's maintained well. Everything I touched broke on mine.

And I honestly think the 4dr is much better looking for some reason...

Yeah, turning around an old unloved car is a miserable prospect. Between the unreliability, high cost of parts, and extremely high chances of dying every time I drove it, its not a realistic dream. They are just so freaking cool looking, especially the interior.

BTW, I sold mine to a local dubber who's gonna slam it. Of course

Had to sell mine because it was a money pit and it needed a HG. And the HG for a 220D is apparently near impossible to find for some reason.

Anyone here ever work through a hiring agency? A friend referred me to a company, and they called me today to come in for an interview tomorrow. Job is mixing chemicals for an pharmaceutical company, 4 days on, 4 off, 6p-6a, starting pay is $13.50/hour. The schedule is pretty baller actually, it would allow me to keep my security job and work the days/hours I want

From what I understand, I'd be hired by the agency, and after 6 months the company can hire me directly? If they wanted me to come in for an interview ASAP, does that actually mean there's a good chance I could be hired?

Any insight appreciated

Just because its a '71. An old, ABS-less, airbag-less, lap belt anything is going to be horrifying compared to today's full on restraint systems. If i had the means to pick up one just to kick around town and do roadtrips I wouldn't sweat it. But getting on a high speed, heavy traffic interstate in one every morning seems like it'd be asking for it.

I can't really offer any advice but I was hired by headhunters for my current job. When I was interviewing and stuff the situation was presented to me as a 1 year contract, at the end of which the company would have the opportunity to renew my contract or hire me as a salaried employee.

3 months after getting hired my manager said "Oh I just extended your contract by the way."

"....wat?"

The contracting agency swore up and down they had no recollection of ever stating a 1 year term, and the company I work for wasn't even involved in the conversations. So I've been getting extended in fits and starts, sometimes for 45 days, the last one was from mid-april until mid-september.

I have minimal patience for my recruiting agency, on top of feeling like I was sold into a situation without fully understanding it, they've made numerous clerical errors and are a huge pain to work with. I sent my account manager an email over a week ago and haven't heard back.

Contracting is a great way to get your foot in the door, but I'm really, really, really hoping I get converted to salary at the end of this next term. (right before Thanksgiving I think) Working full time by the hour gets old. I work 45-50/hours a week and get paid for 40, like I would in a salaried position, however, I get no PTO, no sick leave, no benefits. I'm paid for what I work (well, most of it) and nothing more.

Sure thing, it may be different from industry to industry. My GF is a proposal writer so she's around a lot of government contractors. Those guys seem to have stronger relationships with their actual employers and work on a few different contracts every year.

In the tech industry most contractors are on permanent assignment like me, and some contractors work on more of a consulting basis. We've brought in a handful since I've been here who've come and gone.

I've been getting good vibes from my current manager about getting hired at the end of this term, here's to hope! If I do I'm going to take the world's most appreciated vacation this winter.

If I had 8-12 days off in a row I'd literally go insane

The way I'm figuring it, even if I just worked this chemical mixing job, I could easily work 1 additional day at my current security job, or two if I felt up to it.

40hrs x 13.50 = $540
8hrs x 20.25 (time and a half overtime) = $162
8hrs x 11.00 = $88

I'd be pulling in $790 before taxes every week. That's more than I'm making in two weeks at my current job, often working 6 days a week... Even though this job would be a temporary thing most likely, the increase in pay alone would be worth working potentially ****ty hours..

My company works alot with a contracting agency.
We mainly do this because a project will need a person for 4 to 8 months, and we don't have the capacity to hire that person full time, then let them go in 8 months when the project ends.

HOWEVER, I often see these folks be converted to full time after their contract ends, and they are put on another contract that is longer (3 to 5 yearsish...).

Its a good way to get in, and show your stuff. Good luck
