Whatever turbo I get, it'll be something that's a direct bolt on, because otherwise I'd need to make a new uppipe/downpipe and re-route oil/coolant lines. Its just more work than its worth even if you get a killer deal on the turbo.
Ah I gotcha.

I would get a direct bolt on too, but I don't know what they're called. Too many silly names, every turbo company should have the same name/sizing for turbos.

yeah that would help, as it is I've been researching turbos the entire time I've owned the car, and I still dont know what my best option is

you have to stethoscope the hub of the wheel thats spinning to check for the noise, spinning it by hand is not a sure fire way to dectect a failed bearing

I swear the air in there is so thick with French fry aroma that it has a couple calories.

5 Guys Rules! Good beef, standard burger is a double, lots of condiments, and the SMALL fry size fills a 2lb paper bag. There's one in the US Air terminal at Reagan National Airport in DC. I always stop there and get a burger and fries to carry on the plane with me. Once they close the door everyone can smell the goodness. Lots of hater looks but I don't care....

I make a lot of one day trips to DC in my work. 6:30 a.m. flight up, 8 p.m. back, no lunch most of the trips. Can't describe how good 5 Guys tastes at the end of day like that.

I soooo understand!

And the price is right too. I just got two single patty burgers and fries for dinner tonight for 11 bucks.
The double patty is too much unless I haven't eaten all day.

I really wasn't all that impressed with them. Their cajun fries (with extra cajun seasoning) kick ass but the burgers leave a lot to be desired to me IMO. I drop by occasionally when I want a burger that isn't from E-bar or other normal restaurants by work, but I don't ever really crave them.

I've spent the last couple days cleaning out the boxes of crap my family left in my barn when they moved and rearranging my blacksmithing shop so I have more space for car work. I should have plenty of space to get all around and yank the engine out.

On a related note, has anyone heard of an M44 blowing up?, as in parts of it strewn across the highway. One of my friends apparently had that happen to his ti on Friday.

I'm the same way. There could be a coast difference. I'm satisfied with In and Out.

An m44 blow up? Yikes.
I've never heard of it but I suppose it possible.

Honestly, I'm thinking oil pressure was probably part of it, he said earlier in the summer that the oil pan was cracked and he had to fill it up weekly, but he might not been on top of it on this first long trip he's taken since April. It's an autotragic so money shifting isn't likely, not sure about red lining.

He's trying to decide whether to sell it as is and start fresh, or to replace the engine, I've been advocating replacement along with a manual swap.

Blacksmithing? Isn't that something they did in like the 1800s? Just how isolated ARE you?

Speaking of shops, I'm really psyched. We looked at some new construction last weekend and have been mulling over our options, the floor plans we're most considering had a 3car tandem garage (L shape) so in the back 3rd car space I think I'm going to set up a little shop area there. BendPak's basic 2 post is only about 3k shipped and should fit in there quite nicely. Then I'd have easy working under the car when I want, and a 4 car garage the rest of the time. I want I want I want!

Your taste buds are probably biased by too many San Fran veggie burgers.
