Thats not the correct pintle cap for the 4 nozzle bosch injectors.

They work fine. I have a set on both the 318 and 325 and there was absolutely no difference in gas mileage or performance. The style of the cap isn't important, just that there IS a cap on it.

<3 Ken you're awesome, what is that P/N for? It didn't turn anything up for autozone

Just ask for a BMW injector seal kit. They use that same kit for all BMW/Ford and God knows what else injectors. That number is the maker's part number (BDW makes them)

Nvm, found it on advance, thanks Ken! I'd love to order that other set specifically for these injectors, but this car needs to be on the ground and running by monday morning, putting it together with some cap has got to be miles better than no cap. I can order a rebuilt set and pop them in later on.

Yup, I couldn't find them on the Autozone site, either. I've bought them there in the past!

You have to have the cap and spacer on the injector because that's what holds the lower O ring in place. It won't seal without it.

Deployment dates are finally announced...

January 14th to somewhere around the end of November.

Nothing like a good old eleven month deployment. Now I just need to figure out what to do with my car. Anyone in VA want to babysit?

EDIT: MA or almost anywhere in between will work as well.

I'm serious.

I could only get 3 of the seal sets so I'll just have to cobble it together and order a whole replacement set soon.

I'll hitchhike from here and drive it back to my garage in Alabama! I won't drive it TOO much while you're gone.

I wish I'd known you needed them. I have about a dozen extra kits. Advance had them on sale for $2.99, and O'Reilly's had a "match any price and give you 10% off that ', so I got a box full for $2.60 each.

Carlos....I'd do it. My touring doesn't seem to be selling, so I need a short term gig while I'm waiting out the fix. Let me know....

Not a problem, she'll need a drive every now and again to keep her oiled.

By all means if you had the means/space to hang on to her for that long. I'll be in touch.

I thought everyone knew. I mean I don't go around announcing it (obviously), but I've been poked at enough times for most to catch on.

Honestly, if I'm not rushed, I wouldn't mind doing it at all this summer.

edit: I have all of the parts too, I believe.

No kidding? I'm sure you wouldn't mind the project either. Plus even though I sadly wouldn't have done it myself, I'd feel a little better because I've been saying I was going to do it for the last 2 years. I just don't have the time/space.

Would you have the space to hold it the whole time, or just the summer?

Yeah, I have the space for it. I won't be home until the summer. I could probably take it in January if necessary, though.

Didnt know. Unless you told me and I forgot (which is a good possibility based on how things have been lately).

BTW. I get compliments on the rims pretty much everywhere I go. Just thought I'd tell you

I'll be taking leave from the end of December into the beginning of January, so I could drop it off on my way back down to VA and have Molly bring me the rest of the way. It would be beyond huge if you could do it, and I'd definitely throw some cash your way as well, for it's quite the favor. Sleep on it though and let me know, as I don't want you to commit right off the bat.

Yeah, it's pretty sad, but oh well.

And I'm glad to hear it. I feel like they're relatively hit or miss, being a newer style and unique to an E36, but I loved 'em. Nice to hear they're still getting compliments.

how can I hear it if I only have two radio stations out here in the country?!

But really, After they got rid of the only good country station around here, I pretty much stopped listening to FM radio. There are 5 pop stations, and one really crappy country station. Effffffff that

I get all my music via interwebz now
