Sorry if it's a dumb question....just don't want to pay them for something me, CJ and Dino could do on a sunny weekend....and Patrick, you too, if your wife and baby will give you a weekend pass :-)
Since this is a private job and not an insurance claim job you should be able to find a shop that will quote and do the part you task them to do. They might ask you to waive any warranty on their work if they think any subsequent work you and the crew do might damage their stuff, but I've only had that come up once in the projects I've done.
I can spray solid colors here at home, but I don't have the equipment to do a good job on metallic paint so I farm that out. I've done the same with a couple things that needed straightening or spot welding.

Question for those experienced with electronics. I bought a plug in portable battery charger/starter off Craigslist. But... I am a little afraid to use it in case it essplodes my battery.

How can I go about testing that it's putting out the proper voltage and amperage before I stick it on a car? I'd hate to have it send 120 household volts @ 600 amps to my 12v charging system.

Huh? Plug in portable?

Is it a plug in battery charger or a jump starter box?

Primarily a jump starter but also has a semi-trickle mode. It's one of those big boxes you roll around on wheels.

I'm sure it will be fine.

Just in case disconnect the battery first.

If you've got a multimeter, just check the voltage at the battery connections without the charger connected to anything. If you see 16V or so you'll know you've got voltage regulation and you should be good to connect it to your battery.

Holy suspension travel batman!.....http://www.photoreflect.com/store/Or...&po=78&pc=1154.... She made it all the way from Jersey though! It's on bilstein/H&R sports, and it's still compressing like that.

Pretty typical. I'm running coilovers and I get a lot of compression too.

Damn, that sucks.

My guess is a coolant leak because of all the smoke.

if it's the type i am thinking of, on trickle mode it'll be fine....we used these in the shop. we charged just the battery, tho, and did it either out of chassis, or disconnected the ground cable.
