I'd much rather have a Chevy with a Chevy engine than a Chevy with a Cummins.

You'll love a Duramax! Just budget for problems because they'll be expensive if they do occur.

First gen injectors

Second gen hg

Third gen dunno any problems? Haven't looked into it. I thought about getting an O6 or so later down the line but I think I'll wait. The new trucks will be out soon and when mine is paid off I think I'd rather have that. I anticipate a much cleaner design with a superb interior.

I think she's done with smaller SUVs, she seems to either want a fun car or a very large SUV. Don't know which. I'm confused. But I don't think the Eq would satisfy any of the wish list she has.

Speaking of gmt800s, I might upgrade to a duramax crew cab. It would be LLY or newer. This is if I can't find a clean crew cab dually in gmt400, for the cummins swap. Thoughts?
I'm not terribly impressed with the 900's either. The switchgear is a good step up and it looks purdier, but it still feels pretty plasticy. And I can't stand how the 900's ride so high over the square wheel wells.

The irony of the 400's is that I'd actually consider one. The interiors blow, but then so do the 800s, which makes it not really such a big step back. So, if I could get one cheap enough I could use it as a daily to the train station and for trips until Brittany finally got bored of it. Plus, they're more or less fully depreciated.

It's easy sailing once you get the fan off. Make sure you have the necessary gaskets.

As CJ Said.

One little fine point is to have a very thin 32mm wrench for the fan nut. I got one from a bike shop, works perfectly.

No vans.

It basically is between a yet-unnamed sedan and a Burb. What will likely happen is I'll scoop up the E38 tomorrow and list it for sale and then take the cash and get a GMT800 and something else for me. We'll see. I still need to get the E39 running and sell it too.

We tried sticking the stroller in the E39.....oh boy. Didn't even pretend to come close.

Dino, Harbor Freight sells a full combination wrench set for about $25 that has a long shaft 32mm that fits also, and you get the rest of the set as a bonus. The long shaft gets the end up high enough you can whack it with a hammer to break the fan nut loose.
And remember the fan nut is reverse threaded, clockwise loosens it.

Might as well, although I've always thought that was about the gayest name they could have possibly come up with.

Me and a buddy are thinking about going in halvsies and tearing it up. If it's truly a good car after it survives a winter then we could most likely make our money back at least.

Chad, agreed.

LUV was short for Light Utility Vehicle and it was a gay name but they were actually a pretty good little truck.

That makes sense. Still gay. This one is stripped with a roll cage. I figure get some cheap buckets for it. Thrash it. Depending on how bad it is clean it up and sell it to someone who is looking for a nice one.

Yea I rarely ever see them. Didn't even know what it was until a few months ago. For that cheap and going in with a buddy it is just something to do during the winter at least.

Damn that thing is thrashed. Still, if it runs you can probably make it work.

I'd be concerned about the front axle being pulled. Might be because there's a t-case problem, never know if the PO is actually telling the truth.

Speaking of gay, I'm painting 90 feet of 1.5" conduit right now. Had to sand it all down first before the paint. There's really not many good options for sanding a long round tube, so I shut the garage door......didn't want to be the weird neighbor jacking off the conduit in front of everyone.

Not much to lose on that deal. They're an ISUZU that was GM's first import from them. Pretty stout little truck but not very sophisticated design. One of my high school buddies traded a '70 440 six pack Plymouth Barracuda for one.

Yea its seen better days. Interior is pretty much all gone. DOn't give a crap about off road racing I just want to go and tear up some backroads.

Guy claims they were off before he got it but you can get the axles for dirt cheap.
