Thanks for all the support everyone. I think, in hindsight, I was meant to move into an e46 M3. It just fits my driving style so well. Now I just have to get that garage built

I spent a good bit of time in a e46 M3 last weekend... There was some noise to the clutch, but Im the only one that noticed because I listen for stupid stuff like that. It was more of a mechanical sound as it was engaging though. I dont know if that's similar to what you're experiencing or not. Either way, beautiful car! Everything about the e46 M's mesmerize me.

Well, CJ and I decided yesterday over lunch we are going to have a 'resurrect the snowmobile' weekend in the late spring/early summer...so all 'festers will be welcome. Even those named Randy.

Its really not that bad. When I pulled the parts motor apart, I set the timing at TDC and started unbolting the lobes that had no tension on them. Rotated slowly, and repeated until everything was unbolted. A bit nerve-racking at times, but the cams are straight and not broken.

Do you guys know if an M44 in the Z3 is the same as the M44 in the e36s? As in, would a set of aftermarket headers or a turbo manifold work in both the e36 318i and the Z3?

I believe the motor is the same Ryan, but the body surrounding it might be a problem to get a turbo manifold on. Is this for the GF's ti?

No, this was definitely the TOB. Not sure if it's normal or not for the E46M bearing to be that loud. If an E36 throwout bearing was that loud, I would say it's on its way out. Which is surprising since the car only has 15k.

I know right? Its got 243k miles, so there could be a thousand reasons for it not running right.. I was thinking it'd be fun to pull the motor, rebuild, turbo, wider wheels, 250-270whp...

It looks pretty clean for what it is, silver w/black top and black interior. Waiting to hear back from the motherly unit..

I'm promising to teach her drive in it and let her use it while I'm gone in exchange for free storage.

The mother shall agree on such deals as this!!

Oh, and my brother got his license yesterday. He's a huge Dodge boy, and he's gaga over my Cummins truck. So what do I do to take advantage of this? 'if you're nice to me, I'll teach you how to drive manual in the cummins'. So far I have gotten a 24 pack of mountain dew... This will be good

You haven't seen one Ryan?

From a quick front-only glance at a distance you would think its an Aston. Well played ford, well played.

I'm not sure I've seen pics of this one yet.. A lot of the new Chevy cars actually look pretty nice IMO, American cars have really stepped up their game in recent years in terms of appearance.
