If you haven't got any juice to fire the coils and the rest of the electronics, push starting isn't going to do a bit of good. Seems like push starting would only be helpful if your starter was dead, not your alternator.

Cool! I'm actually a pretty big fan of the Volt. It's a really great stop-gap until we fully nail the full electric car thing.
I love the volt. Spark EV is coming out soon as well.

I'm really exited for the new fast charge systems. 45 minutes instead of hours.

Dino, Just a jump start won't get you there since you've run the battery down to nil. A fully charged battery is about 40 amp hour capacity, but the voltage falls below useable before you get to use all of that so in the car you get about 30. That's with a brand new battery, but they lose capacity with age so I wouldn't count on more than 20 amp hours. The car when running probably draws 15-20 amps. Fully charged you should get roughly an hour of running with nothing else but the motor (no radio, lights, etc) so you're on the cusp of either making it possibly being in walking distance when it dies...........

Not true! It will be a great work out! Lots of focus on your calves, good cardio if you push it far enough, burn tons of calories if you keep at it long enough! Start the car...............not so much.

Yep, the Model S is fantastic, and faster than a new M5.

So that's what the kids are calling it nowadays.

The Nummi plant is in Fremont. If any of you tour it without looking me up I will be sad.

Yes, those are some bigass mirrors.
Why do all electric cars have ridiculous looking rear ends? I do like the Volt much better than the Prius though.

Usually it's for aerodynamics - an expression of function over form.

So I reposted my iPhone 4s on eBay last night and this morning I got this.

I am 90% sure that it is a scam. I do not know if I am just unlucky or what but this is the second time a scammer bought the iPhone. If this keeps happening I do not know how I am going to sell it (anyone what to buy an iPhone).

Not since I told him that his iPhone had cocaine, ecstasy, semen, and lube on it.

Actually I think this might be the Ghana guy getting revenge on me. The email is similar to Ghana guy and the iPhone was bought only 7 hours after I listed it.

So I just put baby down for a nap again. She sleeps a lot... I decide I would catch a little sleep too, lie down, and she cries.
Pick her up and she stops. Bank down, and waits till I get back in bed. This continues for a few more cycles. I give up, bring her downstairs, sound a sleep! Ugh.... Baby 1. Patrick 0.

I'm sure Fremont laid a lot of pressure on them to make a deal, the property taxes on the plant are incredible. Fun fact, it's the largest undivided parcel of private land in the Bay Area which makes it invaluable to have a stake in. Plus, it has its own rail lines, is sandwiched between two major freeways that go different directions just a mile from each other (including one going towards many parts suppliers in the valley), and is only about 20 miles from the Port of Oakland.

I'm sure Toyota was willing to do anything to retain a position in the plant, and they get to do it without the drag of the UAW.

Word. Speaking of, I need to go tour it and see the changes. I went there often enough as a kid I could practically lead a tour of NUMMI operations, I wonder what all it looks like now.

Brittany's dad was in management at NUMMI and did get to tour it, he said its mostly empty but looks stunning.

If this guy wants to play dirty I will play dirty. I am currently setting up my own mail sever so I can email bomb him back to the Stone Age. Let’s see how he likes having every email account he used with me being rendered useless by a flood of emails saying "FCUK YOU".

Boo ya! Refinancing my condo! Going to save about $300 a month! And it's not going to cost me a penny!

Hoping to convince my wife a car payment for BMW e46M is in order.
