Can you tell how long it's been since I've driven my car?

So now is a good time to sell your car.

Edit: e36 Phantom beat me to it.

I was being inappropriate(immature). Where do you rub ice cubes to get 'high beams'?

EDIT: I've been on the bike all summer Chad, just recently using one of my roommate's 'spare Mercedes'.

Ed, you're nothing if not immature.

What's going on with the E36? Just keeping her sheltered from the Arctic or pending repairs?

Trying to fix the no reverse situation. :fingerscrossed:

My roommate is a photojournalist, does some pretty impressive work. He's got 3. His DD is the '00 CLK430. His summer baby is an '84 Euro spec 500SEC tuned by AMG before they became part of Mercedes Benz, and his spare is an '87 560SEL JDM with franched headlights (factory), and velour interior. Hell, the rear seats recline on that damn thing!

Whats the fix for no reverse? Besides, who needs that anyway? True story, I drove a 99 Ranger for 3 months with no reverse. I used pull through parking spaces, and when I forgot, I pushed it...

That 87 is nice. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have to google it to find what they were. Which one is he letting you drive?

I could do an auto-manual swap in a weekend. At least, all the undercar stuff. You'd be in charge of the pedal and master/slave cylinder stuff.

This.

Felt lousy the end of last week, curtailed some weekend activities but not enough. From Monday afternoon onwards, it was all downhill. I am finally able to breathe today without having my ribs hurt from coughing.

Something is going around. If you don't feel well, get off your feet and give your body time to recover...or your body will extract its revenge.

Agreed I think something is going around right now although being on the opposite side of the country it may be a different something, but I'm starting to feel ishy myself. I'm sniffling up a storm, to which I'm sure the other train pax aren't thrilled about. I always have deplored being stuck next to sick people.

That first blurb talking about the exhaust note is so true. I really love the new Jags, they're killing it and IMO really going towards where BMW should be right now. Go find an X-anything-R and have a friend drive it while you stand behind and listen to the intoxicating exhaust note. Yum.

There's like a nationwide bug going around, every morning this week I've felt more tired and had darker circles under my eyes, and I'm getting plenty of sleep. I hope I'm not coming down with something.

Shopping for a car isn't fun anymore.

Every idea I come up with gets shot down by someone somewhere, and maybe I'm just an insufferable doucher but the idea of spending my money on an ecobox just seems wasteful. Why spend that much on something I don't really like?

I think I need to take a time out on the daily search for a while and wait until I have cash in hand to decide what I want to do.

According to my club from school I'm a f*cking idiot for wanting anything other than a ragged out WRX or a Mazda 3.

I completely agree with you, but then I know I'm a douche.

What about an early build E60? I know they're not the prettiest things out there, but you could get a 6 cylinder with a manual if you wanted or steptronic, get good gas mileage, get a non turbo so it's reliable, and have a comfortable Highway Cruiser thats newer and has a nice interior for a great price.

Who's had their flu shot this year? Show of hands, and tell whether you got the flu anyway or not.

For reference, I have not, and every year I HAD a flu shot, I got it anyway. Every year without...cruised through with no sickness. Go figure.

Raises Hand.

Got it because the Dr said with a newborn, I should get it. First time in 6 years I've gotten it. Even then, I didn't want to, but worked for Campus and was required to get it.

The '04 and '05 E60 were notorious for electrical problems. They sorted most of them out by MY '06.

Flu shots are for children and the elderly. I am neither.

I've never gotten a flu shot, and I haven't gotten sick in around 3.5 years (I was allowed to play in the sandbox as a kid...).

In other news, experts weigh in on the E30 vs. E36 vs. E46 M3 for motorsports. Old article, but still worth a read (for someone like me, I suppose...).

Haven't gotten it this year. Likewise, I got the shot last year because of the twins. No flu, but I did have common colds which no matter how hard I try I always seem to get at least once a year.

Jared, what kind of electrical trouble? Engine modules, body electric, or everything? I wasn't aware of that except the HPFP on all the turbo models.
