Yeah, cleaning the ICV is a good start. Could also be a vac leak, so check all the little rubber hoses. (don't forget the little one that goes from the bottom of the manifold to the FPR)

Expert? Not me. I couldn't even get my '95 Blazer to run.

That sounds like an idle control valve malfunction to me. When the throttle is closed, it's CLOSED, as in no air getting past the throttle plate. Unlike some fuel injection systems and all carbureted ones, the idle isn't controlled by the throttle plate being set to a tiny opening. It gets it's idle air through the idle air control valve. You can try cleaning it with aerosol choke cleaner, but you'll have to remove it to do that.

This, that big sucker that actually goes straight to the ICV is a common culprit. and good luck going to the store and just replacing it with some random hose, i had to buy a special diameter fuel line spec rubber hose to replace it...

good news is, the M3 will get some new paint and stuffs, and you have a car that you can beat unmercifully in the meantime.

I would imagine the 323 ICV is the same as a 328 one.

Big storms/tornadoes rolling through here this morning. Major damage to the Mercedes dealership in Mobile. About 30 cars with severe damage; some on their roofs/sides. We are currently between lines of storms.

I was supposed to take the 633 to Mobile to get the old tint stripped and new installed, but the road to the shop was closed and they had no power, so I never left home. Now I find out the road is open, they got power back and are open, but it's too late to leave now. They said it was going to be an all-day job just getting the old horrible tint off the glass.

That looks like very minor damage, Jen, and very easy to repair. Basically just unbolt the damaged stuff, and bolt new parts back on. If I was closer, I'd help ya make the repairs and you'd walk away with money in your pocket.

So I called the court today... They said that my court date will be in February (I sent in a not guilty plea). I'll be in school then, so they said I can call before my date in Feb and reschedule.

Do I have grounds to plea not guilty? I have a feeling I'm gonna go into court and look stupid. Obviously I was going more than the speed limit. Or should I try for a plea bargain? (not sure how that works). I know Jay said that the standard bargain is 10mph less. I'd be fine with that.

You sure do have grounds to plea not guilty. When you go to court you will talk with a district attorney, he/she will offer you 10mph less then your current infraction (you can try to get more knocked off but up here they are pretty strict about only knocking 10 off and no more) and then you will accept this in front of a judge.

You may go up to the judge first before speaking to the DA, plead not guilty to him so that you can talk to the DA.

Dress nice too, never hurts.

Oh and you wont be the only person there, there will be a lot of other people with tickets/ minor offenses dealing with the DA and the judge, so all the focus wont be on you.
