Agree with Karl on the Passive Aggressive stuff. Good way to begin a feud. Just be a man and say "If you used all my butter I'd appreciate it if you replaced it. If you can replace it before I need it, even butter".

last weekend my injector seals had a catastrophic failure and it was skipping and spraying fuel everywhere, i replaced the seals but the engine is still missing on one cylinder, it's a very consistant and uniform skip, one of the injectors, plugs, coils, or injector connectors are bad... or i have a very large vacuum leak. i don't even know where to start looking, and with all the snow and ice in my back yard and the current temps, it's staying parking out front until i can move it around back and not catch hypothermia while working on it.

Could it be a bad ground strand from the coil to the car? I know you were having problems with water getting there??

Serious question:

Were I to pack up everything and make a go of a new beginning somewhere, looking to get into a gig as a restaurant or bar manager, (VERY experienced), looking to make reasonable bank, and be able to rent for ~$700-1000 per month, (more is okay provided that cost of living is reflected in increased wages), where would you folks recommend?

I want somewhere (preferably without the ridiculous CA smog laws) where I can ride, wrench, and live without having the local (and our equivalent of state police) being geared purely towards revenue generation opposed to public well being.

Somewhere so long as I speak English, that french isn't going to restrict any advancement or job opportunities.

Suggestions?

EDIT:

I really would prefer a non-government town (aka Washington DC is out), due to being soured on the trying to please everybody regardless of common sense BS.

Oh, and I'm seriously thinking of doing this this summer.

I'd say come here, but one summer in the heat and humidity and you'd run screaming for the Great White North.

Both my car and bike will pass even CA smog tests, but I think I'm past the over-regulation.

lol The humidity can't be too far off what it is here in Ottawa Ken.

Quote:
Summers are warm and humid in Ottawa. Daytime temperatures of 30 °C (86 °F) or higher are commonplace. Ottawa averages many days with humidex (combined temperature & humidity index) between 30 °C (86 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F) annually.

Mobile's geographical location on the Gulf of Mexico provides a mild subtropical climate (Koppen Cfa), with hot, humid summers and mild, rainy winters. The record low temperature was ***8722;1 °F (***8722;18 °C), set on February 13, 1899, and the record high was 105 °F (41 °C), set on August 29, 2000.[49][50]

Does anyone (Chad) know anything about the Jag X-type? I know its just a warmed over Ford Mondeo, which was supposedly a pretty good car. I hadn't given them a 2nd thought recently, but I saw a guy at the grocery store that had a Sport package Stickshift, and the oddball factor got my attention. Then I found out they are like $9k and I'm wondering what it would be like to own one. I'd get the 3.0L Sport with 5spd, ~226hp, AWD.

I was figuring if it was basically a Ford it'd be pretty reliable, but those motors are unique to the Jag, which dampens my spirits. Also not sure how I feel about the looks, I like the oddness of it, but idk. Might be worth driving one. Prolly not.

A Grand Cherokee is still my current front runner, but I want to test drive another one and another Mazda3 before pulling the trigger on anything. If I get more of a salary than I expect when I convert to full time next month, I'm going to drive an MKV GTI DSG just for the hell of it.

Yeah, but you don't have heat indices over 110 about 60 days a year. I'll be the first to admit it's miserable here a lot of the time during the summer. Rest of the year is pretty nice.
