Well guys, walked outside this morning (-2*), and this is the gift life chose to present to me!

Looks to me like someone intentionally broke it, you can see the handprints/marks on the wing.. I'm not gonna claim in on insurance because I dont want it to jump up, but do I call the cops to get a report? Not sure what to do really..

There's usually a separate number for filing police reports. I'd start there.

I would be PISSED. usually though the veteran plates, and "Glock" sticker in the rear window, I feel, is a deterrent to little sh!theads.

Luckily there was a cop parked by the empty building across the street, got a police report.

Besides breaking the wing it looks like they kinked/dented the trunk lid.

Little b*st*rds.

what thinking a sticky valve or something, but an injector sounds pretty good too.

how many miles you got on that?
He said he had the injectors spray tested and they came out good. I have the sheet for that, the valve is the last thing I can think of in the string. I'll check for ash and conditions in plugs and injectors this weekend when I comp test. Df had suggested possible hydrolock, so I may have to try a leakdown test eventually. But I agree with Ken, valve can't just come and go like that. Thanks for the input. Oh and 162,000 on it now. No drop In fuel economy (24 mpg but I'm in stop and go a lot), and the oil looks like the day I put it in at 500 miles, no carbon, I mean 0. Like honey.
That sucks about your car Ryan! Hope you catch the little punk.
And who calls someone else out on their first post???

I think the trunk might be fine, took the wing off and inspected it. The wing is toast, definitely not repairable. Is it even worth filing an insurance claim on it? I can get another wing for free, so it isn't really worth my insurance skyrocketing for a spoiler..

I'd just get the free wing then and still file with the police. And the Glock sticker works better in conjunction with the actual Glock!

My coworker with that black Z4 heard a weird noise driving it this weekend so he took it to the dealer. They are talking him in circles about replacing a wheel bearing and the rear tires. I didn't notice any tire noise or that unmistakeable wheel bearing hum while I was driving it on Saturday. He's finally getting pissed off at the dealer and their "throw the customer's money at it until its fixed" method of diagnosis. I was like "Yessssssssss, let the hate flow through you"

That's good. The "bow wake" of dirt/salt spray/ice around the left support in the first picture made it look like the deck had a kink or low spot.

I wouldn't file a claim, but I WOULD do a police report.

And the Glock sticker works best with the actual USE of the Glock in that situation.

Your insurance won't change at all, it's a comprehensive claim.

That said, if you have a free one I'd hold off on a claim. Unless you have an exceedingly low deductible you won't get all that much money, and after several claims they can choose not to renew you if you have a lousy carrier.

Could even just be some little kid, I was sitting in my living room Sunday and maybe a 7 year old kid or so stopped by the E36 and leaned over the hood and started rubbing his arms all over it. I went outside and was like....dude.....what are you doing?

A gun would not help that situation at all. He never saw who did so how is he going to shot the vandal? Would he really needs is a camera system for his car. Then he could track down any vandal and make him pay dearly.

Something similar happened to me at a Best Buy parking lot. I was walking back from Best Buy when I saw a little girl rubbing her hands all over my freshly washed hood like she was on excity. So I ran over and said “What the fcuk are you doing!? Get your hands off my car.” I must have scared the sh!t out of her because she immediately stop touching my car and hid behind her mom.

Sheesh! To a little girl?? Tough crowd here.

If anything, talk to her mom for letting her drool all over your car.
