yeah the military doesn't really care about notice, sh!t rolls downhill and fast. so if last night congress shut down their mission, they would've called various commanders, and then rolled it downhill from there, eventually reaching lower enlisted last of everyone.

I wouldn't even be on the ship which is nice. I live on land and fly supplies to and from the ship. We were supposed to be on the ship for about five days while it crossed the Atlantic, then we'd fly into Spain and go from there...ultimately ending up in and spending the deployment in Bahrain.

Woke up at 10am yesterday, went to the optometrist, ate, started work at 3:30pm, got off at 11:30...

Started my second job at 12:00am, got off at 7am, gave my wife's car an oil change. Went to go have some breakfast!!! Got a haircut, went home, showered, now I'm having lunch.

Start work at 3:30 and off at 12:00, have to be at my other job at 1am, get off at 7am, have an appointment with a real estate agent at 9am and have another appointment at 1pm with a guy that's renting his house.

Fcuk!!! No sleep!!! I hate being responsible!!!

Los what air group are you in? I do logistics for the NAVSEA and NAVICP commands. You probably have flown some of the stuff I send out to carriers! Bummer on the pay, but glad you're out of harm's way.

Watching Moonstruck...one of my favorites. The Castorini house alone is to die for! :-)

Carlos, I am so sorry that you are in this predicament. It stinks that they gave you so little notice....

Probably. If you've sent anything to a carrier on the East Coast then it has certainly gone through my squadron unless it went by Helo. I've personally flown to the Enterprise, Eisenhower, Truman, Lincoln, and the Bush...with the majority of flights to the Truman and Bush. I was supposed to deploy with the Truman.

So ANGRY!

My dad borrowed my camera without telling me and changed my camera settings to shoot the LOWEST possible quality instead of the HIGHEST possible quality so he can email the pics without resizing. He proceeds to not tell me, not change it back and I then go on a shoot for a prospective big time client.

Client loves the on-camera photos and "can't wait to see the final product and determine the future of our relationship." I get home and start editing and I can't figure out why in the world all the photos are so hard to edit. I go back and see the size settings were all changed.

I then proceed to text me dad: "Please don't change camera settings without telling me. I have 115 useless photos I'm supposed to deliver to a client in a few days"

He then texts me back: "whoops, forgot to tell you about that."

WTF !

Aw, damn. That sucks. I would just make the best of the pictures that you can and explain what happened to the company. Show what you can do even with low quality photos.

Fixed

If all he wanted was some low res pictures why was he using your camera in the first place?

I mean, I don't treat my dad like sh1t because he has never treated me that way, even when I mess up, but it is really annoying.

There's other reasons to use DSLR cameras besides a bigger file. It's the lenses, lighting, detail, etc etc yada yada

i hope you can salvage the shots. does the company want you to attached the Jpeg style or do they want the edited RAW content?

I've been elbow deep in goat all day (literally. One of my buddies has a goat farm and today seamed like a good day to do some slaughtering). But they payed me with about half a goat worth of delicious meat and lunch so totally worth it.

I loves me some goat curry. Yum.

Congrats Patrick, BTW. How is da Randys holding up?

James, sorry to hear that. If YOU don't think they are up to your standard, would suggest being open and honest about it before you show them to the client. Would suggest offering to reshoot at no cost or a substantially reduced fee)....becuase from their perspective, you probably should have checked the gear prior to. Sorry, I don't mean to shovel goat sh%t on top of what I'm sure you're already feeling, just trying to look at it from their perspective too. But you could turn this into a positive...they could have greater trust in you and your abilities because you are open and honest with your clients. We all make mistakes....it's how you fix the mistakes which is really the key here. .
