cj, vid or ban!!!

in other news, will be playing with some parts i have and looking around for a brake upgrade for both the ti and cadence.

cadence should be rather easy, as it appears to be a simple swap with 330i parts from an e46. probably going to do a master cyinder upgrade as well.

the ti, on the other hand, looks to be a bit of a quandry.....the front part is simple, same as cadence. the rears, however, seem to be somewhat of a mystery. the rear suspension and such is from an e30/z3 design, and although apparently does not suffer from the rear subframe failures as the rest of the e36 chassis, is a bit more of a challenge to upgrade. hmmm....seems i shall see what, exactly, is involved with a rear brake swap upgrade with the ti.

doesn't look like we will be getting much snow, but lots of rain and wetness going on.

you guys up yonder stay safe.

You can probably get some good ideas from the E30 guys about the rears on the ti.

I wanted to do the E46 brake upgrade on my car, too, but didn't feel like the added weight to each corner was worth it. I will be getting new pads this spring, but when I do my brakes "for real" (not happening any time soon...), it will have to be with lightweight aftermarket calipers and floating rotors with aluminum hats.

I switched gears and watched 'How to Survive a Plague' next. What an incredibly moving movie about the struggles faced by the gay community (and ACT UP) to get effective treatments for AIDS. I had no idea that more than 30 million people have died in AIDS related causes since 1984. To put into perspective, 10% of the US 2012 population, or the combined size of the US' 15 largest cities (NYC to Chicago to Columbus OH). Scary.

I feel a bit responsible too. I remember reading about Ryan White and the epidemic back when I was in college, and did nothing. Be the change you wish to see in the World. Sometimes we must be reminded.

Sorry, a bit of a tangent. Now off to bed in hopes that the Big Bad Wolf doesn't blow my house down overnight.

Stay safe all!

Good day today.

Replaced my OFH gasket and in the process the alternator negative terminal broke from the inside. I ended up soldering back to normal. I also odered a remote for my alarm and got it working for the first time .

Hopefully the gasket solves my oil leak.

Yeah. Swings are normally about 16" to 20" off the ground. I've never measured these, nor have I ever cared, but I'm curious now.

My road hasn't been plowed... At all.

Well maybe we've got 1-1.5 feet. It's hard to tell since they're constantly plowing here.

I work with the police a lot and they're like any other segment of the population. Some are very intelligent and highly educated, some are not as much but have good sense and handle the stressful situations calmly, and some are Indian Bob with a gun instead of an E36.

You read AOL.com? I work there and I don't even read it. We do have a lot of really good media sites out there, but I always joke and say the homepage is our "checkout line" tabloid.

Mine is bad, how much? I'd probably just leave it in the box until I fix my motor, I know my coolant is low now, I top it off once a week,

Thanks DF, I guess retail is a much more common place to remember that term. In the web world we use them the same way, it gets passed in an activation URL so the billing database knows which product or service is being purchased or activated.
