1 liter = 33oz.

Most drinks are 33oz? I don't think so, unless you supersize everything.

pretty close then, a lot of the "large" sized drinks that come at no charge with a "value meal" or "combo" are at least 30oz

Edit for clarification: took a large BK cup and was able to nearly fit an entire 40oz adult beverage in it.

A truly scientific measurement.

Okay experts need advice:
On the x5 I just replaced the MAF thinking that was the cause of my issue. However it didn't fix it.
So the symptoms are as follows:
The car when come to a stop at idle, it is idling rough and sparatic. Will go from 700 rpm to 300rpm and acts like its going to die. If you give it gas and keep the rpms up then there is typically no issue, however sometimes it will do it untill you take off and floor it. No other symptoms really and it doesn't do this all the time (about 70% of the time at idle).

CEL code is saying: Misfire on all 6 cylinders and bank 1 & 2 lean.
What should I check for next?

I wouldn't think all six plugs/coil packs would go bad at once...or would they?
Not sure if this background helps, but recently replaced the disa valve (5 months ago) and intake/throttle body boot (3 months ago).

I would be suspect of the ignition control module if it has one, usually if a car misfires, the fuel leaving is unburnt which will trigger a "rich" code, but you're seeing a lean misfire which makes me believe that there's something wonky in the ignition system

What about something as simple as the fuel filter?

maybe if it was blocked solid. another thing it could be is the idle control valve, when mine gets stuck my car will do the same thing, coming to a stop it'll lose all revs and die, or drop a few hundred and start running really bouncy

I am no conspiracy theorist, but there are a helluva lot of coincidences that made me look again on this.
Except that when fugitives are being chased by police for murder (and the killing of Police, no less), it's almost always going to end exactly as it did for Dorner, or in some other way which has also been portrayed in film. I find there to be nothing unique about how Dorner's story unfolded, so the fact that there is a movie which follows a similar path is not surprising to me. It's just: Man kills police officers. Police chase man. Man hides in remote cabin. Police find man hiding in remote cabin. Man dies in one way or another...

Argh. That sucks. I'm hugely different from my brother, too, but he somehow (miraculously) was never put in jail. It was probably only luck that he wasn't. His late teens and early 20s were such a roller coaster ride... Took him until about the age of 28 to 30 to really settle down, and now he's a very responsible and successful person. I've seen lots of people screw up royally for huge parts of their life and then be able to turn the ship around when nobody thought it was possible. Hopefully your brother will mature and grow out of what's gotten him into such a dire setting.

Maybe a bad knock sensor? The knock sensors serve two purposes, one is to detect a detonation out of synchronization with the proper cam and crank positions and adjust the timing advance (and other parameters) to eliminate the detonation. The second is to monitor for detonation at the correct timing point to ensure all cylinders are firing. I believe (but can't guarantee) that looking at the knock sensors is the primary means by which a misfire is detected. A bad input from the knock sensor could cause the DME to misadjust timing and fuel parameters when it's not needed......

ICV was also something I was thinking of but not sure why that would make bank 1 & 2 lean and misfire on all 6 cylinders. And the reason I was saying fuel filter is b/c if its not working properly by filtering the debri/water out of the gas then that would cause issues with spark in each cylinder right?

Yea Karl im hoping he too will straighten up when he gets out of jail...he is a great person when not drinking/doing drugs.

I just don't have the funds to throw parts at it trying to fix the car. Im thinking maybe start with maintenance type things that will need to be replaced anyway like the plugs. Just don't really know where to start to diagnose vs. throwing money at it.

I thought 102 rounds fired into the back of a completely different pickup with two older women delivering the morning paper was pretty unique.

^Yeah, that aspect is pretty interesting, for sure. And lets not forget the Honda Ridgeline the police also shot thinking that it was Dorner's Nissan Titan...

Just looked up the partnumbers for the knock sensor...its the same on the x5 and my dads 325i so guess ill swap them out this weekend and see if that fixes it. Seems like that could def. be the issue.
