Good Lord Kenny! Tequila!?!?

Last time I got wasted on Tequila I could taste it for a week afterward and my wife thought my sweat smelled like it too...........

Of course on that particular day we started with mimosa's in the college parking lot before the final class, had mimosa's during the morning class, had lots of champagne during lunch, 151 rum jello shots washed down with champagne during afternoon classes, a couple bottles of wine at the bar after class before the tequila shots started with top shelf white tequila and degraded to some ugly brown tequila shots the rest of the night. I have no idea what time or how I got home but I woke up in my car in my driveway shortly before sunup.

Joey, PM sent.

Just went to my first auto-x. Didn't run, was worried about the brake rotor, but it was damn cool. They had 7-10 runs apiece for the $40 in the morning session. Quickest time was a WRX. Took tons of photos, will upload soon. Next event is Sept, definitely entering it was way fun.

I completely regret not entering.

Not bad. At least it's 100% agave. How'd you take it? That tequila is a good candidate for some grapefruit juice or grapefruit soda. I'm a fledgling tequila snob.

Yup, it's 5 PM somewhere. I don't drink now (used to about 40 years ago and was this close >< to being an alcoholic) but I wouldn't drink 1800 just because of the smarmy jackass that advertises it.

You probably used your brakes more driving there and back than you would have on the AutoX course

Did you get a chance to do any ride alongs?

We're going to F.I.R.M. (Florida International Rally & Motorsports) for AutoX next Sunday. We use most of the road course (outlined in yellow) and they set up chicanes or slaloms to keep the top speeds within AutoX specs.

Nice Jesse! That's going to be really nice when it's all done.

Jon, based on my experience, rotors should last longer than that, but it probably varies from car to car, driver to driver. I mean, I've had the same rotors on my car since I bought it in Jan. 2010, and who knows how long they were on there before I got the car. They still are 100% smooth and have no ridges, etc. I got about 8 years out of my rotors on my last car, until a caliper stuck and completely roasted everything. Really, rotors shouldn't warp on a street car, ever. If they do, they were bad rotors to begin with, or something is wrong.

Eh, I kinda doubt that you've warped the rotors due to getting them not and then wet. I'd have your rotors checked for warping, which is quick & easy, and if it isn't that, you probably have a worn suspension component.

They could. I would check the balljoints. Pull off the wheel and see if the spindle has excessive play due to the balljoints.

Jon,

I have my first autocross coming up on Saturday (1 week) with the BMWCCA. I'll have a few GoPros going. I'll be sure to get some good videos

I'm pretty stoked to throw the car around on my pitiful 205s and catch the track bug.

With a warped rotor you typically feel vibration in the brake pedal as well as the steering wheel if it's significantly warped. If the brake pedal feels smooth, but you're feeling it in the steering wheel, then it could be a worn ball joint or tie rod end and the vibration is caused by an alignment change when the wheel load is changed with braking forces. You could pop the rotors off and run them over to Pep Boys and get them turned. If the vibration goes away you know it was rotor warpage.
