Just an FYI. With my discount I get the new XSI with a 18-55mm lens for 520.
Although if you can find a deal on a nikon d5000 I'd go with that one because it has movie mode and a couple other little features.

If any of you guys need any accessories for stuff let me know. I can get super discount on them

lol be very careful when you say cheapest there are some ghetto ass places like you wouldnt be ok in. My suggestion is if you wanna spend 500 get a roommate and split a 1k rent. I cant think of any where that rent is that low off the top of my head. umm lol so cal stays in the 70s if you dont like warm weather i would go with the bay area

(Just an example, I'd sooner check a used camera specialtist, and not buy electronics from ebay).

I dont think a newer XTi and a ancient 6.3mp D60 are really comparable. I bought a new XTi with the starter package (body and 18-55mm) for somewhere around $800-900. My tripod was $100, my 70-200 lens was $700, my bag was $50, etc. So $550 for all of it in good working order seems like a decent price.
