Why the sale? What kind of response did you get from the publications you sent pics to? Did you send pics to BMW?

Just wanting to move forward and give someone else the chance to own this piece of art. It is featured in Performance BMW magazine this comming month (July) , and multiple online publications, I am still in contact with BMWUSA for future involvement.

thanks everyone... remember the price is negotiable and substantially cheaper if you can pick-up.

Did you have a UV resistant clear coat put over the art?

no clear... it is UV resistant oil-based paint to start with and then has a few layers of wax on it. Its been going fine for months.

your good, at first you were doing it for yourself, got everyone involved to take a look at your hood. I thought you were madly in love with it and were doing it for your self, you should be a sells man not an artist good luck with selling it. maybe next time use quality paint like a pro and not a sharpie, good luck too the buyer dont scrub too hard whene you wash the hood.

Was it really done with sharpie? if so then why so expensive? i do a lot of artwork so maybe the whole time and effort thing of this piece doesnt appeal to me in the price....but it IS gorgeous. This has got me thinking of what a black hood would look like with white work, maybe in the future i can try it. Goodluck brotha,

Cheers

it holds up perfectly fine when washing and waxing acctually, and it was done with sharpie PAINT marker. so it is a uv protected oil based paint. not just a permanent marker. after this week the art will not exist if someone doesn't buy it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Don't destroy it... there are fanatics out there who will absolutely jump on this, don't let your success or lack thereof on eBay and here lead you to do something massively cruel and stoopid... please...

Contact some art dealers in larger cities (there are a few in New Orleans) and commission them to sell the thing for you, put a reserve price acceptable to your art and let them handle it for you.

Patience, Grasshopper... art doesn't sell like Springsteen tickets, you have to find the right buyer. You're an artist, you deserve acknowledgement and suitable rewards for your effort. Patience...

... well its for sale because I want a painted hood , and I want someone else to have the chance to own it. But I only had one offer and they dissapeared .
I created it so I can always do it again. hopefully someone jumps on the chance here... I will entertain any offers.

Chill

Yeah, where's the fire.

The hood, as is, is functional and you can still drive the car until you find a buyer.

If your willing to paint over it, then you don't care if it gets damaged when driving it, so use the car and wait for your buyer to come along.

its not about damage. I am wanting to drive my car more often on a daily basis and don't want the added attention it brings.

Isn't that why you created your masterpiece? For the added attention it brings?

And isn't that why someone will buy it? For the added attention it brings?

I think most everyone here and who was, is, and will be exposed to your art is blown away by your vision. And most everyone here has been most supportive and encouraging, as evidenced by all the kudos you got when you first posted, and also when your art was sadly vandalized.

Imagine the outcry if you turn out to be the one who destroys your creation.

Funny thing about art... it's yours, but it's not really yours. It now belongs to the ages. You can do whatever you please with it, and if it fits your lifestyle to part with it, then do it without regrets, as someone else will enjoy it while it continues to bring you notoriety. But if you choose to end its existence, you should also be prepared to suffer from, shall we say, the added attention it brings... can't have it both ways...

I wish I could buy it, but I lack the space to properly display it. Someone out there does, though, and will come through if you're patient. I urge you to be more flexible in your plans for the sake of something valuable, unique, and important...

Agree with boogety on all points.

If you don't want to wear that hood for a while, then find a crapped-out hood from a junkyard. Yes, you'll have a ****ty hood for a while, but it will give you time to get some purchase price for your art-hood.

And the 'attention' you would get driving a crappy hood around for a while should scare you into leaving your art-hood in place for a while longer.....

(if you had a sedan, you could buy this one for a buck-and-a-quarter.... http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...RODUCT_ID=6837)

well while I agree with all your points I disagree as well. I created it while I was driving the car on nice weekends only. I've put 500 miles on my car in 6 months. I am wanting to enjoy it more often. And I do not want the added atention to a daily driver, this is hard to explain to most people, but everywere I go I have ricers comming up to me and telling me , "oh bro its so sik bro, how much did it cost?" that's just irritating. I do not mind the people that appretiate it and enjoy it, but those are few and far between not on the internet. This is a hard concept to explain to people that do not have extremely unique cars. If someone would offer me even enough money for me to get a M3 hood and paint it then fine.

but as i've said over, and over... knobody has offered me anything. Not even an offer of $1000 ... nothing. So people can tell me i'm crazy all day long but at the end of the day all i'm getting is , "I wish I had the money , but I don't, but don't get rid of it" . that doesn't help me.

Like I said, I created it... I can do it again anytime. I'm glad it has inspired the masses and everyone loves it, but I'm at a different point in my life and cannot justify not driving my car, or spending extra money for a new hood just to keep this one in storage and "HOPE" someone comes along that wants it later. If someone wants one later and has the money , I'll paint THEIR hood.

Thank you all for your comments and praises for the art though , I really do appretiate it, and that is why it was created. I am not one to stay in one place and be stagnate. Always move forward and see what could be next, you never know, if you never change and move forward you never open the door for the next great idea.
