Locked out!

im locked out of my 2001 e38 sport. i had something hooked up to the cigarette lighter and hadnt run my car for a few weeks. needless to say, the batteries are dead. key doesnt work on locks or trunk. how do i get in to jump start batteries? dont wanna call AAA...theyre known to be not so gentle when slim jimmin'...THANKS

Try turning the key farther than normal...

I also had trouble with the trunk lid. I couldn't find the 'catching' point. Just turn it approximately 45 degrees to the left, count off 3 seconds then continue turning to the left through 90 degrees, then it should work.

If you cannot get the key trick to work (it should, it's in the manual), then, get under the car, hook a charger lead to the positive terminal of the alternator and the negative to any metal body part....this should provide enough juice to open the doors with the remote.

Try lifting the door handle a minute amount and turn the key to unlock, This is the BMW official way on BMW e35 5 series, Yes it does work.
