Curious, how many of you...

...have your engine oil drain plug access cover missing from the plastic undertray on the S54? Me thinks my dealer either didn't put it back or did so improperly causing it to be lost.

Some of the guys at work noticed mine sitting in my parking place when I left for lunch a week or two ago. Just fell off, I guess. Bizarre. I'll put it back on the next time I'm under it.

That's parts ok but one of my S52 engine cover access "plugs" popped off ( the black background with silver lines). I changed the plugs recently and the tab must have failed because I reinstalled it correctly.
(I did happen after I had to walk a WRX that was up my butt on the Interstate. They may be fast off the line but over 70mph, you downshift and start to pull away....... )

Mine never fell off.
It's off now, sitting in my spare room, because I removed it with the underbody panel.

Ron, why did you remove the panel? Better cooling?

It was a pain to remove (more of a pain to install) when working on the car. Less weight. 11 or so pounds if I remember weight. My remember rights are not as accurate as I get older.
I assume that it was added when they raised the speed limiter from 137 to 155. I believe that all of the Euro M coupes had it.
My car does run cool. 190 > 205 oil temperature. A hot day doesn't seem to matter.
I also run the aux. fan at low speed automatically for up to 30 minutes on shut down depending on engine run time. Can also run it on demand. I'm doing this using one of John Firestones mini controllers.

Yeah, it looked pretty thick (good, not flimsy) when I was underneath today checking (ran over some freeway debris/scrap/body part) and noticed the access panel was history. Whatever it was made the slightest scrape mark only to be run over by the next person behind me.

Anymore observations on the Injector?

Right now, I'm running it with sport mode disabled on start up using another one of John's mini controllers.
John sent me a new main controller Tuesday with a data logger mode.
Once it and my lap top arrives, I will be doing some checks.
Will also be doing some OBDII checks using the software and cable I purchased from: http://obd-2.com/

That S54 engine/transmission undertray served its purpose yet again this morning. Another piece of debris/scrap/body part deflected.

BMW might have thought it was for aerodynamics but where I live it's more like body armor.

Mine came off. Ordered a new one and it looks like an updated part.

My replacement cover just came in at the dealer.

Maybe the foam makes for a tighter fit which will keep the cover in place? Doesn't seem likely it is to keep the undertray from deflecting up. Anyway there's no way I'm taking mine off with all the crap littering the freeway.

Any update on the spare tire kits? (I realize you're getting ready for HC.)

The covers should be in my hand any day now. Getting a bit tired of waiting.
