Peeling of the Lacquer Clear Coat

Did any one experience the Peeling of the Lacquer Clear Coat???

This is annoying as the clear coat started to peel off from different area...

Does the car needs to be repainted with paint or its enough to apply the clear coat again?

Is it lacquer?

I recall reading that the clear coat on a 6 is not a laquer but rather a high-tech melted ceramic powder -- a sort of glass. ??

Use some halogens and inspect the paint. Usually but not always the peeling clear coat is from an aftermarket respray (ex. a slight fender bender with no reported damage). The sooner you take care of it the better. Did you by any chance have your car detailed with a cut/polish? they might have taken too much off and burned through the clear causing it to fail.

Where on the car have you experienced peeling? I've had 3 6-Series convertibles, including the M6 I have now, and have never experienced this problem.
