Auto window problem
I have been experience intermittent problems with the automatic window roll down that occurres when you open or shut a door on my 323 coupe. It does not roll down when the door is opened and the light also doe not go on, as if the door open sensor is not working. So far I have only noticed that it occasionally does not work on my driver's side door (it could be occurring on the passenger side door as well but it is used much more infrequently).
I took it to a shop recommended by some of my bimmer buddies and told them the door unit likely needs to be replaced. They called me today and said that instead of the door unit needing to be replaced it is the central control unit (considerably more $$$). Has anybody had a similar problem? The tech told me that BMW has released a service bulletin with regards to this issue, but has not done a recall. Can this be correct if both the window isn't going down and the light is not going on? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

First welcome to bimmerfest. Yes that sounds like a common problem with your regulators. Bimmerfest has a very nice wiki that has a lot of information. Something similar to what you are experiencing is described there: http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index...kes_bad_noises
Also, search the forum, this has been discussed a number of times. |
