nj exhaust law
i want get a costom racing exhaust done on my e46 coupe what is the lows of nj motor vehicle inspection center do i need a resonator or catalistic converter do i need a muffler ? can i just run piping down with tips plz email since i have 2 many treads thx

Racing exhaust as is an off road only exhaust isnt gonna be legal anywhere.......
if ur referring to "racing" exhaust (lol).......... mmmmm just gonna need Cats and ur ready to go....

You need cats & mufflers to pass NJDMV inspection (they look under the car with rolling mirrors) "Racing exhaust" (whatever the Hell that means) would be useless without headers, which would make the system illegal unless you installed 02 sensors....

If you look carefully at the fine print of most aftermarket exhaust systems , they say something like "for off road use only" . They're too loud and spew too much pollutants . That's why most motorcycles in this state go uninspected .

I've never been pulled over on my bike for my pipe or lack of inspection sticker . And when I have been , the Cop has never cared or ticketed me for either .
