God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

How to Remove Window Regulator

I have a 2 door 1988 325e (build date 10/87) and need to replace the window regulator (serpentine style). I've removed the window and have removed the 3 bolts that hold the regulator onto the door. Now what?

I even loosened the whole assembly and it slides around the door frame but I can't figure out what the heck Im supposed to do to get it all out to make sure nothing is broken or how to get the actual regulator off. (I'm assuming the regulator is the piece the window motor connects to.) I cant slide it out through the opening on the bottom of the door, or at least I can't figure out how to do it without bending the assembly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A write up with pics would be even better. I have a feeling Im missing something because some of the write ups I've seen completely skip the actual removal, as if its something that is obvious.

I actually spent almost 3 hours just trying to get a working motor onto regulator because the motor mounting screws wouldnt catch. After 3 hours of hand cramps due to the awesome design (thanks BMW!) I then find out that it wasnt the motor itself.
