A friend and I each have Alpine White 1991 M5s in the Rochester, NY, area. We both have a reasonable level of technical knowledge. I joined the form recently, principally to share maintenance, performance, and technical/operational) issues. Both our cars are nearly stock, save for chips, wheels, and tires. -Gil

Proud owner since 1992-3 - 102k miles

1991 Sterling Silver, 210k miles. Currently getting new power steering lines. Should be done in a day or so. Staggered Throwing Stars, Dinan chip, Supersprint decat, new stock cat back. Just redid door panels and headliner and will tackle seats soon.

There are at least two in Rochester, NY. I have a 91 white M5 with 140KMiles. Love it!

I 've got a 1991 Black/black M5. Previous owner sprang for a 6-speed, which is fun. Bought it four years ago.

My eyes keep wandering to older cars instead of newer models when I contemplate replacing my E39.

I own a M5 3,8l, acquired in 1992. Unfortunatelly the new Traffic Rules in my country are very hard and the car is in my garage.

I plan to go once more to Germany with its wonderfull unlimited speed autobahns.

May be it will be the last chance to put it at more of 250km/h!!.

Well... I can't figure out how to delete my message, so the fact that I replied to a 4 year old thread will be nicely preserved in via this post haha.

Well I have one....use it every day to and from work and have done for 7 years! Still goes like a bomb, and gets thoroughly thrashed whenever I get the chance. it has now done 250k (LHD import from Germany) I love it....but thinking of refurbing the 'Throwing Star' Alloys....anyone got any pics of these in Black? Would love to see em on the Brilliant Red model like mine.....??
