2007 Z4 3.0i Lease end - turn in or purchase?

I have a 2007 Z43.0i with 14K miles whose lease is due to expire in about 50 days. Today I went into a local BMW center for a lease end inspection and the lease manager asked me my intent with the car. I indicated that the contracted residual was well above market value and that I would be returning the car. He agreed and indicated that they would be willing to sell me the car at the Manheim auction price. He also indicated that I could have the car CPO’d for an additional $2,000 over the Manheim price. I’m looking for thoughts on this offer and to verify the Manheim auction price for a 2007 Z43.0i Premium/Sport/Heated Seats with 15K miles.

The price for CPO is a little high but considering they are selling you the car at Manheim auction price according to you, it looks like thats where the dealer is looking to make its money.Let us know when you get everything in writing and lets see where you end up on the total price.

if it is in fact Manheim + 2K for a CPOed car I would take it in a heartbeat. That essentially comes out to getting CPO car at private party sale price.

Sounds like a good deal, find out what the numbers are!

Also, if your trim has any scratches in it, it should be a part of the CPO process (ie. replacing with new trim pieces).

He would be responsible for any extra stuff that the car needs to pass CPO, they are not going to charge a flat $2000 and replace anything it needs for free. That is likely just the cost of the warranty, inspection and processing.
