^ BMW says 23 city 36 highway. Im getting close to 25 in the city right now and expect to get even better. When I reset the fuel consumption I was idling for the next minute or so. I cant imagine that helped the computer calculate my fuel economy lol

Ok, i just printed it out. Im on my way now to finalize & drive it home. Dealer better not try to do something funny. I think that's more then proof that its 29mpg combine total so it should qualify for the 4,500.

Definitely send some pic's when you finally stop driving it and park it. Still confused on how you got the $4500 rebate when the Nissan you traded it was not in your name? Is the BMW registered to someone else? Just trying to get clarication on how this cash for clunkers thing works. Anywho, you have one sweet car my friend!!

According to http://www.fueleconomy.gov I believe this is what government uses
335D 09 has combined 27 city 23, hwy 36 Civic 96 has combined 27/28 depending on particular model. To get $4500 mileage improvement of at least 10 mpg To get $3500 Mileage improvement of at least 4 mpg Hmm clunker must have "new" combined city/highway fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon or less. I am confused.. Your civic doesn't meet either of these requirements. What do you think? |

You get $3500 if the spread of average mileage for the car you trader and the car you bought is at least 4 mpg but less than 10 mpg. Anything over 10 mpg spread you get the full $4500.
